I was given a battery-operated bead reamer as a gift, but am hesitant to try it. I was watching your bead reamer video and didn't even see a powered version mentioned as an option. It seems to me the hand versions offer more control. Do you have any recommendations?

Hand-operated bead reamers definitely offer more control when reaming beads. Battery or motorized reamers are used the same way, yet have the benefit of speed, which is great when you have a lot of beads to ream. They do take getting used to and ultimately, the choice is a personal preference, given the net result is the same.

Whenever reaming beads, please wear eye protection, a dust mask and use water to flush the area where you are making the hole. Water will keep the dust to a minimum as well as clean out the hole, allowing the files to work faster. Be sure to dry your files well after you are done working so they do not rust.
