I have many large uncalibrated stones. I would like to create my own mounts with Artclay. Will the prongs bend and not be too brittle for setting the stones after firing?

After firing, silver metal clay is very malleable and not brittle as long as the firing was completed successfully. Fine silver metal clay is 0.999% silver and much softer than sterling silver metal clay since there is no copper or other metals present.

Be sure to use proper tools and techniques when filling prong settings.
