Multiple strands can be done in a couple different ways. You can use spacer bars to "manage" the strands, incorporating the bars as part of your design, knotting and securing the cord ends together with a surgeon's knot and a drop of adhesive.

Another option is to finish with a clasp. Create each strand, knot and secure each end with E-6000® Jewelry and Craft Adhesive (not knotting the ends together). Gather the ends on one half of each strand then tie a knot. Open the loop on an eye pin, lay the knot on top of the open loop then close the loop over the knot. Feed the straight end of the eye pin through a bead cap and make a wrapped or simple loop to finish. Repeat on the other side of the strands. Use jump rings to add a clasp to the loops just made.

Powercord® is recommended for its strength and resilience. Powercord ranges in diameter from 0.5mm to 2mm and comes in clear and several popular colors. A surgeon's or square knot would be the best way to finish the ends of stretch cord as each knot is very secure. Adding a drop of glue, like E-6000 or Loctite 409® Gel Adhesive adds an extra layer of security. E-6000 remains flexible after curing, which is a great advantage when using with stretch cording and Loctite 409 Gel has gap filling properties which bonds the cords together.
