I'm trying to learn Kumihimo, but I'm not sure what kind of thread I should use. Do you have any suggestions for me?
- Becky
You can use many different types of threads with Kumihimo. For a finer braid, consider using hemp or silk and silk-like threads. For a thicker braid consider using bugtail, mousetail or imitation silk cording; for a very thick braid, ribbons, silk cord, and rattail are wonderful to weave together.
Use this helpful reference chart for basic cord sizes to finished braid sizes for kumihimo--and find additional tips for successful braiding.
