I purchased brads and want to use them to connect a piece of filigree to leather. The brad pulls through the leather. What can I do to fix this problem?

What a great design. Cold connections are very popular and this is a problem that is easily fixed. You need to put a "washer" on the back side of your brad so that when the brad is flared it will grab onto the washer and not pull through the leather.
