I want to make my own ear wires. What type of wire should I use?

Round half-hard wire in 20 or 21 gauge is ideal for ear wires. Smaller gauges are too thin and larger gauges too thick for standard ear piercings. Half-hard wire is soft enough to bend, but firm enough to hold its shape afterwards.
