These tools and techniques will produce a uniform, secure mount for your stone.

Instructions

Step 1
Cabochon being held in a bezel setting

Place your cabochon into the bezel. While bracing the stone and bezel with your non-dominant hand, place the bezel roller against the top edge of the bezel. Roll (or rock) the bezel roller along the edge of the bezel.

Step 2
Bezel roller pushing in the bezel cup

Place the bezel roller on the opposite side of the bezel just pressed. Roll the bezel roller along the edge as in Step 1. Repeat Step 1 all the way around the bezel.

Step 3
Hands holding the setting

Once the cabochon is captured in the bezel, you can press along the edge with a burnisher. This will ensure the edge is compressed completely and uniformly.

Step 4
Burnisher pressing on the bezel cup

Once the cabochon is captured in the bezel, you can press along the edge with a burnisher. This will ensure the edge is compressed completely and uniformly.
