Using Magic-Glos® to Create a Glass-Like Surface

Place a grape-size ball of scrap polymer clay onto an easy to move surface, such as a playing card, small mirror or tile. Press the project item that will be receiving the Magic-Glos® onto the scrap ball of clay for stabilization and to keep it level.

Note: The item is placed onto the clay for easy movement, rotation and manipulation.

Apply a few drops of Magic-Glos to the center of the project item. Watch as the Magic-Glos spreads across the surface; if it begins to unevenly pool in one direction simply adjust the angle that the project item is sitting on and use a needle tool to pull the Magic-Glos where it is wanted.

Tip: Use less Magic-Glos than you think you will need when applying.

A few more drops of Magic-Glos can be applied to the center of the project item if it is not thoroughly covering the surface.

If bubbles have formed in the Magic-Glos, very quickly and carefully pass over the surface with the flame of a butane torch to remove the bubbles. Place in direct sunlight or under a long wave UV lamp for five to ten minutes.

Note: After five to ten minutes of curing, the surface of the Magic-Glos will be rock hard but the inside will be jelly soft for up to an hour.

Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to create a second layer.

This layer will create a smooth border right up to the edge of the project item.

If there are still exposed areas around the edges, repeat Steps 2 and 3 as needed.
