How to Use Freeform Mountings
Freeform jewelry mountings are a practical solution for setting gemstone nuggets and other irregularly shaped materials that don’t fit standard settings. With their minimalist, open designs and sturdy prongs, these mountings make it easy to showcase the natural beauty of uniquely shaped stones.
Instructions
Step 1
Gently lift the tips of the prongs outward and away from the center of the mount to ensure that the stone will fit within the prongs.
Step 2
Hold the prong mount securely with your non-dominant hand, then set the stone inside the prongs.
Step 3
Gently push the prongs towards the stone to secure it.
Continue to secure the stone in place by gently pressing the prong tips down onto the top of the stone.
