Learn a new seed bead stitch! Follow along with Rose to make a bracelet with the spiral herringbone stitch while using your favorite seed bead colors.
Instructions
Note: The color combination in this tutorial was selected to better show the steps. The colors may be changed or added to, to best suit your design.
Cut an arm's length of thread and add a beading needle.
Use the following seed beads to create a six-bead length of ladder stitch:
Pass through the first and last bead of the ladder stitch. Pass through the first bead again and pull tight to secure the circle.
Pick up two A and pass down through the next A of the first row.
Pass up through the next B of the first row. Pick up two B and pass down through the next B of the first row.
Pass up through the next C of the first row. Pick up two C and pass down through the next C of the first row.
Pass up through the next A of the previous row and the A above it in the second row.
Repeat Steps 3 and 4.
Repeat Step 3 to complete a fourth row.
Pass up through the next A beads of the last three rows.
Pick up two A and pass down through the next A bead of the previous row.
Pass up through the next B beads of the last two rows.
Pick up two B and pass down through the next B of the previous row.
Pass up through the next C beads of the last two rows.
Pick up two C and pass down through the next C of the previous row.
Repeat Steps 6 - 8 until the desired length is reached.
Repeat Steps 3 and 4 three times then stitch around the last row and adjacent beads to secure the thread.
