Meet the Artist
Lisa Pavelka is a Colorado native who resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. As an award-winning artist, designer and author, she is internationally recognized for her expertise in several mediums with an emphasis on mixed-media application. Lisa spends her time teaching, publishing instruction material, and developing products/techniques in the mediums of polymer clay, metal clays (Lisa is a certified Art Clay® Master), crystal design, resin, and wire work.
As a creative pioneer, Lisa has tackled everything from jewelry making and large scale home décor to scrap-booking and altered arts. She has shown the crafting world there is almost nothing she won't tackle including creating large scale mosaics (like the one that surrounds her fireplace) and covering the back of a van with polymer clay!
Lisa's work and tutorials can be found in several books and DVDs she has authored as well as the numerous magazine articles and columns she regularly writes. Her work is often featured in the gallery pages of books written by other artists. She is also a frequent guest of nationally televised programs including the Carol Duvall Show (HGTV), Beads, Baubles, and Jewels (PBS), Jewelry Making (DIY Network), JTV, and the Discovery Channel.
As a highly sought out instructor, Lisa travels throughout the world to teach hands-on technique and design classes in her chosen mediums, as well as business seminars on the topics of brand building, photographing artwork, and getting published.
Lisa launched her signature product line in 1998. In 2004, she entered into a licensing agreement with JHB International, after being sought out to design a line of novelty buttons for the company. Today, her line features over 200 signature products. New products are added each year. Her line is now managed by the Great Create; a designer licensing company she co-founded with her partner and marketing guru, Lisa Lambright.
Lisa is a firm believer that everyone is an artist, and has dedicated herself to help others discover their canvases.
Lisa Pavelka YouTube videos for Fire Mountain Gems and Beads include titles such as: How to Create Steampunk Gears and Embellishments Using Metal Clay, How to Add Photographic Images to Components Using Waterslide Image Transfers and Layered Collage with Magic-Glos®.
