Golden chain with opulent pearls and a simple lariat technique--A style that works with special occasion evening attire or to dress-up jeans and a flirty blouse.
Instructions
Cut 22 sections of chain, 3 inches long.
Make the following components on eyepins:
Make the following components on headpins:
Begin with five peridot eyepin components, three pearl eyepin components and four of the 3-inch sections of chain.
Add one peridot eyepin component to one end of a chain section, add one pearl eyepin component to the other end. Connect a chain section to the other side of the pearl eyepin component. Continue connecting chain by alternating the components, one peridot then one pearl and so on. This will give you one completed strand.
Continue this alternating pattern to make four more completed strands, beginning with a different component each time. You should have three completed strands that begin and end with a peridot and two strands that begin and end with a pearl.
When all five strands are complete, cut five pieces of chain in the following lengths: 4-inch, 5-inch, 6-inch, 7-inch and 8-inch.
Attach one length of either chain to the end of each one of the five strands from Step 2. The different lengths allow the end components to hang at different levels.
Gather the three bronze pearl (12mm) headpin components and two pearl and gold headpin components. Connect one component to the end of each chain on each of the five strands.
Cut five sections of chain the following lengths: 1-inch, 1-1/2 inch, 2-inch, 2-1/2 inch and 3-inch. Attach one length of chain to each of the beginning eyepin components.
When all of the strands are complete, connect them together with a jumpring.
Cut three sections of chain in the following lengths: 5-inch, 6-inch and 7-inch long. Attach one bronze pearl (10mm) headpin component to each end of the chain. Connect the three chains together with a jumpring.
Cut one ring plus 1/2 inch of the twisted wire. Use round-nose pliers to make a loop on each end of the wire, rolling it toward the inside of the ring. Adjust the ring so that both loops overlap. Connect the long strands of chain to the outside of both loops using the attached jumpring. Connect the short strands of chain to the inside of both loops using the attached jumpring. String the long strands through the ring of wire and allow them to dangle together with the short strands.
