Single-Strand Necklace with Abalone Shell Focal, Czech Glass Beads and Celestial Crystal® Beads

Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open a 4mm jump ring. Pass the open ring through a loop on the hook portion of the clasp. Close the jump ring.

Repeat to attach a 4mm jump ring the eye portion of the clasp.

Using flush-cutters, cut a 28-inch length of Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire. String onto the wire one crimp tube, a 1/2 inch piece of French wire and the jump ring attached to the hook portion of the clasp. Pass the wire back through the bead and crimp tube, leaving one end of the wire approximately 1-inch long. Pull the crimp tight against the French wire and the jump ring so the French wire is formed in a nicely curved tube. Place a small amount of adhesive (Loctite) inside the crimp (optional).

Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using flush-cutters, trim the excess wire from the short end.

String onto the beading wire the following components:

• One 6mm faceted round light cobalt fire-polished bead
• One 6mm round pale gold fire-polished bead
• One 6mm round light cobalt fire-polished bead
• One 6x6mm cube light blue crystal
• One 6mm heishi gold-plated bead

• One 8mm round lilac fire-polished bead
• One 6mm heishi gold-plated bead
• One 6x6mm cube medium blue crystal
• One 6mm heishi gold-plated bead
• One 6mm round light cobalt fire-polished bead

• One 8mm round purple and gold fire-polished bead
• One 6mm round pale gold fire-polished bead
• One 8mm round sapphire fire-polished bead
• One 8mm round lilac fire-polished bead
• One 6mm heishi gold-plated bead

• One 12x7mm oval dark blue glass bead
• One 6mm heishi gold-plated bead
• One 8mm round sapphire fire-polished bead
• One 6mm round gold-plated bead
• One 8mm round purple and gold fire-polished bead

• Three 6x4mm nugget brass beads
• One 8mm round light cobalt fire-polished bead
• One 6mm round pale gold fire-polished bead
• One 6x6mm cube medium blue crystal
• One 6mm round pale gold fire-polished bead

• One 12x7mm oval dark blue glass bead
• One 6mm round gold-plated bead
• One 8mm round purple and gold fire-polished bead
• One 7x4.5mm rondelle light cobalt fire-polished bead
• One 6mm heishi gold-plated bead

• One 7x4.5mm rondelle light cobalt fire-polished bead
• Three 6x4mm nugget brass beads
• One 10mm round mauve satin glass bead
• One 6mm heishi gold-plated bead
• One 12mm round light cobalt fire-polished bead

• One 6mm heishi gold-plated bead
• One 7x4.5mm rondelle light cobalt fire-polished bead
• One 6mm round gold-plated bead

String onto the beading wire the abalone shell focal piece.

Repeat Step 3, in reverse, to create the second half of the strand in a mirror image of the first half of the strand.

String on one crimp tube, a 1/2 inch piece of French wire and the 6mm jump ring attached to the eye portion of the clasp. Pass the wire back through the bead and the crimp then pull the wire snugly so the crimp and the French wire are closer to the jump ring. Make sure there is no slack along the length of the necklace. Place a small amount of adhesive inside the crimp (optional).

Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using flush-cutters, trim excess wire from the end.
