Single-Strand Necklace and Earring Set with Premo! Sculpey® Polymer Clay, Czech Dipped Decor Glass Beads and Celestial Crystal® Beads

Condition 1/2 of each 2-ounce bar of cadmium yellow and black Premo! Sculpey® polymer clay.

Place the yellow sheet on top of the black and roll back through the roller set to a medium setting. Trim the edges of the clay.

Cut ten 1x1-inch rhombus shapes from the sheet. Using a bead piercing pin, add a hole to each shape through the side, approximately halfway between the base and tip of one "triangle". This will become the top of each clay bead.

Brush the front (yellow) side of each rhombus with cornstarch. Bake according to manufacturer's instructions. Let cool.

Using a pencil, lightly sketch a "squiggly" design on the front of each rhombus bead. Use a green permanent marker to trace over the sketched designs, then use a heat gun to set the ink.

Using Fimo® Professional transparent liquid polymer clay to glue one 12mm double-sided flat round with dragonfly cutout drop to the front bottom half of three rhombus shapes. Repeat to affix one 13x10mm double-sided dragonfly charm to three more rhombus shapes. Apply a small dab of transparent liquid polymer clay to the loop on each drop and charm and then affix one emerald green glass rhinestone chaton. Bake according to manufacturer's instructions. Let cool.

Apply a coat of Diamond Glaze™ to seal and protect the front side of each bead.

Necklace Assembly

Cut one 19-inch length of Accu-Flex® Professional Quality beading wire and one 3-inch length of 3.5mm round and oval chain.

String onto the beading wire: one crimp and one Accu-Guard™ wire protector. Pass the beading wire back through the crimp. Pull the beading wire so the crimp rests snug against the Accu-Guard leaving approximately 1/4 inch of beading wire on the end.

Crimp, then trim the excess from the short end of the beading wire. Finish with a crimp cover.

String onto the beading wire:

• Five sets of:

• One frosted light chartreuse 4x3mm faceted rondelle
• One lime green Apollo AB 10mm round cathedral

• Two sets of:

• One frosted light chartreuse 4x3mm faceted rondelle
• One polymer clay rhombus bead
• One frosted light chartreuse 4x3mm faceted rondelle
• One lime green Apollo AB 10mm round cathedral

Continue to string three sets of:

• One frosted light chartreuse 4x3mm faceted rondelle
• One polymer clay rhombus bead with dragonfly drop
• One frosted light chartreuse 4x3mm faceted rondelle
• One lime green Apollo AB 10mm round cathedral
• One frosted light chartreuse 4x3mm faceted rondelle

• One polymer clay rhombus bead with dragonfly charm
• One frosted light chartreuse 4x3mm faceted rondelle
• One lime green Apollo AB 10mm round cathedral

Repeat the sequence in Step 6 in the opposite direction to string the second half of the necklace. Repeat Step 5 to secure the strand.

Pass a 4mm jump ring through the Accu-Guard on one end of the strand and one lobster claw clasp then close. Use one 8mm jump ring to attach the first link on the 3-inch length of 3.5mm round and oval chain to the opposite end of the strand.

Earring Instructions

Condition 1/4 of one 2-ounce bar of Premo! Sculpey cadmium yellow polymer clay. Pass the clay through a clay roller on a thin setting. Cut two 1x1/2 inch rectangles. Roll each into a small cylinder shape starting from the long edge. Brush each cylinder with cornstarch, then bake according to manufacturer's instructions.

Using a pencil, sketch a squiggly design onto each clay cylinder, then trace over the design with a green permanent marker. Use a heat gun to set the ink.

String onto one 3-inch eye pin: one frosted light chartreuse 4x3mm faceted rondelle, one polymer clay cylinder bead and one frosted light chartreuse 4x3mm faceted rondelle then form a simple loop. Repeat to create a second cylinder link.

String onto one 3-inch eye pin: one lime green Apollo AB 10mm round cathedral and one frosted light chartreuse 4x3mm faceted rondelle then form a simple loop. Repeat to create a second cathedral link. Attach one dragonfly cutout drop to the cathedral side of the link. Repeat to attach one dragonfly charm to the second link.

Attach one leverback ear wire to one end of each polymer clay beaded eye pin then attach the opposite end of the remaining loop on one cathedral eye pin.
