- Clasp, lobster claw, sterling silver and steel, 8.5x6mm oval with swivel
- Ear wire, sterling silver, 11mm diamond-cut fishhook with open loop, 21 gauge
- Crimp cover, sterling silver-filled, 3x2.3mm round
- Bead, ruby (heated), 2x1mm-4x2mm graduated hand-cut faceted rondelle, B grade, Mohs hardness 9
- Crimp, sterling silver, 2mm cut tube with heavy wall, 1.2mm inside diameter
- Bead, garnet (dyed), 2mm-3x2mm hand-cut faceted rondelle, B grade, Mohs hardness 7 to 7-1/2
- Bead, amethyst (natural), 3mm round, B grade, Mohs hardness 7
- Bead, sterling silver, 2.5mm seamless round
- Eye pin, sterling silver, 1-1/4 inch, 24 gauge
- Head pin, sterling silver, 2 inches with 1.5mm ball, 24 gauge
- Bead, ruby (heated), 5x3mm-8x5mm hand-cut graduated faceted teardrop, C grade, Mohs hardness 9
- Bead, lapis lazuli (natural), 2mm faceted round, A- grade, Mohs hardness 5 to 6
- French wire, silver-plated copper, fine, 0.85mm
- Jump ring, sterling silver, 4mm round, 2.4mm inside diameter, 20 gauge
- Chain, sterling silver, 5.5mm textured rounds with 3mm links
- Beading wire, Accu-Flex®, nylon and stainless steel, clear, 49 strand, 0.014-inch diameter
Instructions
Necklace Instructions
Step 1
Cut the following:
- One 17-inch length of Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire
- One 1-1/4 inch length of 5.5mm textured round chain
- Two 1/2 inch lengths of French wire
Step 2
String onto one 2-inch ball head pin one garnet 3x2mm rondelle and one lapis lazuli 2mm round, then form a simple loop. Attach the garnet and lapis drop to the first link on the length of chain.
Attach a 4mm jump ring to the last link on the chain and one lobster claw clasp.
Step 3
String onto the length of beading wire: one crimp, one length of French wire and the jump ring attached to the length of chain. Pass the beading wire back through the crimp. Pull the beading wire so the crimp rests snug against the French wire. Crimp, then trim the excess from the short end of the beading wire. Finish with a crimp cover.
Step 4
String the following onto the beading wire:
- Twelve 2.5mm seamless rounds
- Two sets of:
- One lapis lazuli 2mm round
- Two 2.5mm seamless rounds
- One garnet 3x2mm rondelle
- Two 2.5mm seamless rounds
- One amethyst 3mm round
- Two 2.5mm seamless rounds
- One ruby rondelle
- Two 2.5mm seamless rounds
- One lapis lazuli 2mm round
- Two 2.5mm seamless rounds
- One garnet 3x2mm rondelle
- Two 2.5mm seamless rounds
- One ruby teardrop
- One 2.5mm seamless round
- One amethyst 3mm round
- One 2.5mm seamless round
- One ruby teardrop
- One 2.5mm seamless round
- One garnet 3x2mm rondelle
- One 2.5mm seamless round
- One ruby teardrop
- One 2.5mm seamless round
- One lapis lazuli 2mm round

Step 5
Continue to string one ruby rondelle then repeat the stringing sequence in Step 4 in the opposite direction to string the second half of the necklace. Repeat Step 3 to secure the strand using the lobster claw clasp.
Earring Instructions
Step 1
String onto one 2-inch ball head pin one ruby teardrop and 2.5mm seamless round, then form a wrapped loop. Repeat to create a second ruby teardrop drop.
Step 2
String the following onto one 1-1/4 inch eye pin:
- One 2.5mm seamless round
- One amethyst 3mm round
- One garnet rondelle
- One lapis lazuli 2mm round
- One 2.5mm seamless round
Form a simple loop.
Repeat to create a second amethyst, garnet and lapis lazuli link.
Step 3
Connect one ruby teardrop drop to the lapis end loop on the amethyst, garnet and lapis lazuli link. Attach a fishhook ear wire to the opposite end of the link.
Repeat to create a second earring.
