Single-Strand Necklace and Four-Piece Bracelet Set with Gemstone Beads and Focal, Kumihimo Leather Cord and Antique Silver-Plated Brass Beads

Using an artist brush/paintbrush, coat the top of four 9x7mm round tube beads with patina Gilders Paste® and set aside to dry. Once dry, polish with a soft cloth to desired effect.

Necklace Instructions

Cut four 9-foot lengths of dark blue leather cord and one 3-inch length of cable chain and two 6-inch lengths of Zebra Wire™.

Mix Devcon® 5 Minute® 2-part epoxy according to manufacturer's instructions. Apply a small bead around the edge of the hole in one turquoise donut. Position the length of chain around the hole and allow to dry.

Match up one end of each of the four strands of leather cord. Fold the cords in half, creating eight strands. Insert one length of wire through the folded center of the cords, then form a wrapped loop around the opposite end of the wire.

Insert the folded end of cords through the center of the Kumihimo disc, then place the strands through the slots on the disc in a basic 8-cord spiral braid pattern. Weave an approximately 30-inch braid.

Remove the ends of the cord from the disk. Insert the second length of wire through the end of the braid. Form a wrapped loop around the end of the braid and the opposite end of the wire. Apply E6000® Jewelry and Craft adhesive to the very tip of the braid and allow to dry. Once dry, trim excess cord close to the glued area.

Fold the braided cord in half then insert the center through the center of the folded donut, then form a lark's head knot.

String one 9x7mm round tube bead onto one end of the cord. Bring the bead down close to the knot. String one 12x7mm scalloped cone and one 4mm round onto the straight end of the wire, then form a wrapped loop.

Pass one 4mm jump ring through the loop on one lobster claw clasp and the wrapped loop on one end of the braid, then close. Repeat to attach a 6mm jump ring to the opposite end of the braid.

Bracelet One Instructions

Cut four 5-foot lengths of dark blue leather cord, two 6-inch lengths of Zebra Wire and one 2-foot length of 31-gauge wire.

Match up one end of each of the four strands of leather cord. Apply E6000 to the inside of one portion of the glue-in bullet clasp, then insert the folded center of the cord. Allow to dry.

Insert the folded cord through the center of the Kumihimo disc, then place the strands through the slots on the disc in a basic 8-cord spiral braid pattern. Weave an approximately 8-inch braid.

Remove the ends of the cord from the disk. Gather the ends of the thread close to the end of the braid, then string two 9x7mm round tube beads.

Trim excess cord. Apply E6000 to the inside of the second portion of the clasp, then insert the end of the braid and allow to dry.

Bring the beads towards the center of the bracelet. Position the beads so they rest approximately 1/2 inch apart.

Use the 2-foot length of wire to wire wrap approximately three emerald rondelles along the outside edge of one bead. Pass the wire underneath the bead then continue to wire wrap emerald rondelle beads along the center of the braided cord.

Pass the wire underneath the second bead then wrap three more emerald beads.

Cut two 10-inch lengths of beading wire.

String onto one length of beading wire: one crimp and one Accu-Guard™ wire protector. Pass the beading wire back through the crimp. Pull the beading wire so the crimp rests snug against the Accu-Guard leaving approximately 1/4 inch of beading wire on the end. Crimp, then trim the excess from the short end of the beading wire.

String eight inches of Russian serpentine 4mm rounds then repeat Step 2 to secure the strand.

Pass one 4mm jump ring through the loop on a lobster claw clasp and the Accu-Guard on one end of the strand, then close. Attach one 6mm round to the opposite end of the strand.

Repeat Steps 2 - 4 to create bracelet three.

Bracelet Four Instructions

Cut one 10-inch lengths of beading wire.

String onto one length of beading wire: one crimp and one Accu-Guard wire protector. Pass the beading wire back through the crimp. Pull the beading wire so the crimp rests snug against the Accu-Guard leaving approximately 1/4 inch of beading wire on the end. Crimp, then trim the excess from the short end of the beading wire.

String the following onto the beading wire:

• 13 dark green mountain "jade" 6mm rounds
• One 4.5x2.5mm corrugated rondelle
• Three dark green mountain "jade" 6mm rounds
• One 4.5x2.5mm corrugated rondelle
• One dark green mountain "jade" 6mm round

• Three dark green mountain "jade" 6mm rounds
• One 4.5x2.5mm corrugated rondelle
• 13 dark green mountain "jade" 6mm rounds

Repeat Step 2 to secure the strand.

Pass one 4mm jump ring through the loop on a lobster claw clasp and the Accu-Guard on one end of the strand, then close. Attach one 6mm round to the opposite end of the strand.
