- Cone, antique copper-plated pewter (tin-based alloy), 15.5x15mm with wire lattice design, fits 11mm bead
- Bead, antique copper-plated brass, 3x2mm rondelle
- Ear wire, antique copper-plated copper, 22mm fishhook with 8x4mm teardrop and open loop, 18 gauge
- Bead, antique brass-finished "pewter" (zinc-based alloy), 8mm filigree round
- Eye pin, antique gold-plated brass, 1 inch, 21 gauge
- Thread, Purely Silk™, 3-ply, chestnut, size FFF
- Thread, Purely Silk™, maroon, size FFF
- Chain, antique copper-plated brass, 2.5mm curb, 36 inches with hook clasp
- Wire, Zebra Wire™, natural copper, round, 18 gauge
Instructions
Necklace Instructions
Step 1
Cut the following:
- 2.5mm curb chain:
- Thirteen 2-inch lengths
- Two 2-1/2 inch lengths (using the finished ends of the chain; leave the clasp and jump rings in place)
- Silk thread:
- One 14-inch length of maroon size FFF
- One 14-inch length of chestnut size FFF
- One 5-inch length of 18-gauge Zebra Wire™
Step 2
String three 3x2mm rondelles onto an eye pin then form a simple loop. Repeat to create a total of 14 links. Set aside.
Step 3
Create a simple loop on one end of the length of Zebra Wire, leaving the loop open.
Using the Beadalon® Tassel Maker, create a tassel using the two lengths of thread that is approximately three inches long. Instead of using a jump ring, scoop up the tassel with the loop on the Zebra Wire then close.

Step 4
On the opposite end of the Zebra Wire, string a bead cap (covering the top of the tassel) and an 8mm filigree round. Finish with a wrapped loop.
Step 5
String one 3x2mm rondelle onto the end of one of the tassel threads. Tie an overhand knot approximately 1/2 inch from the end of the thread to secure the bead in place. Repeat with approximately 1/4 to 1/2 of the remaining threads, alternating maroon and chestnut threads.
Step 6
Connect the following, in order:
- One 2-1/2 inch length of chain (unfinished end)
- One beaded link
- Six sets of:
- One 2-inch length of chain
- One beaded link
Step 7
Connect one 2-inch length of chain to the previous beaded link then string the tassel focal onto the chain.
Repeat Step 6 in the opposite direction to complete the necklace.
Earring Instructions
Step 1
Cut the following:
- Silk thread:
- Two 14-inch lengths of maroon size FFF
- Two 14-inch lengths of chestnut size FFF
- Two 5-inch lengths of 18-gauge Zebra Wire
Step 2
Create a simple loop on one end of the length of Zebra Wire, leaving the loop open.
Using the Beadalon® Tassel Maker, create a tassel using one length of each color of thread that is approximately three inches long. Instead of using a jump ring, scoop up the tassel with the loop on the Zebra Wire then close.
Step 3
On the opposite end of the Zebra Wire, string a bead cap (covering the top of the tassel) and an 8mm filigree round. Finish with a wrapped loop.
String one 3x2mm rondelle onto the end of one of the tassel threads. Tie an overhand knot approximately 1/2 inch from the end of the thread to secure the bead in place. Repeat with approximately 1/4 to 1/2 of the remaining threads, alternating maroon and chestnut threads.
Connect an ear wire to the wrapped loop.
Step 4
Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to create a second earring.
