Instructions
Cut the Leather (with sharp scissors)
Cut eight rose-petal shapes, approximately 1.25 inches diameter, from purple sheet leather. Cut three leaf shapes, approximately 1.75–2 inches long, from green scrap leather.
Cut two thin leather ovals, approximately 24x12mm.
Hold one petal at its inner tip using bent chain-nose pliers in your non-dominant hand.
Lightly run a lighter along the edges until they begin to curl under. Repeat for all petals and leaves.
Use a 1.5mm hole punch plier to punch a hole in the inner tip of each petal and leaf.
Thread one 8mm lilac druk pearl onto a 3" gold-plated 21-gauge head pin.
Layer all eight petals onto the head pin, threading through the holes.
Thread the three leaves onto the pin, dark sides up.
Use chain-nose pliers to make a 90° bend in the head pin tight against the last leaf.
Wrap the tail of the head pin around the base of the flower several times to secure.
Rotate and adjust the petals and leaves to form a natural-looking flower.
Glue one 24x12mm leather oval to the back of each earring clip using E6000® Plus glue.
Clamp both ends of the leather to the clip using two clamps.
Let them dry overnight.
Apply a drop of E6000 Plus glue to the pad of each earring clip finding.
Press the glued pad firmly into the back of the flower, directly over the wrapped wire.
Orient the clip so it will look correct when clipped to the inside of a shoe.
Let them dry completely before use.
