Using Small Crystals to Make Corners in Designs

Instructions

Step 1

Cut a 3-yard length of Berkley® Fireline® thread. Thread a beading needle onto one end of the length of thread almost doubling the thread (to make it easier to work with) but leaving a tail so you are working with only one thread.

Step 2
Step 2

String onto the needle four sets of: one 2.5mm bicone and one 4mm bicone. Pass the needle back through three of the sets of beads and the 4mm bicone from the fourth set, creating a ring, with the 2.5mm bicones in each corner. Pull the thread tight, creating the first right-angle weave block.

Step 3

String: three sets of one 2.5mm bicone and one 4mm bicone then string one 2.5mm bicone. Create a new block by passing the needle through the 4mm bicone from the previous row then the bicones from the new block, exiting the 4mm bicone on the opposite side of the 4mm bicone from the previous block. Continue this pattern to create a chain of a total of 19 blocks.

Note: The thread pattern will resemble a figure 8 alternating directions.

Step 4
Step 4

To create another row, pass through the last block of beads in the chain, exiting the last 4mm bicone strung in the block.

String: three sets of one 2.5mm bicone and one 4mm bicone then string one 2.5mm bicone. Pass through the 4mm bicone from the previous block then the bicones from the new block once more, exiting the first 4mm bicone from the block.

Step 5

String: two sets of one 2.5mm bicone and one 4mm bicone then string one 2.5mm bicone. Pass through the next 4mm bicone in the next block from the previous row then string one 2.5mm bicone.

Pass through the first 4mm bicone from the previous block in the new row then continue through the bicones exiting the opposite side of the 4mm bicone on block.

Continue this patter along the edge of the previous block chain to create the second row.

Step 6

Repeat Steps 4 and 5 to create a third row along the edge of the second row.

Step 7

Cut a 1-yard length of thread then thread a needle.

Step 8

Pass the needle through the last 4mm bicone and adjacent 2.5mm bicone on the first block from the first row. String one #11 seed bead, the top loop on one portion of the 4-strand slide lock clasp and a second #11 seed bead. Pass down through the adjacent 4mm bicone in the block then through the group of four 2.5mm bicones below it, to turn around.

Pass back up through the 4mm bicone then through the seed bead, loop on the clasp and seed bead. Pass through the next 2.5mm bicone in the block in the second row. Continue to attach the remaining loops on the portion of the clasp along the end of the bracelet.

Step 9

Pass through adjacent bicones along the edge and around the corner.

Continue through the next 4mm bicone and 2.5mm bicone along the adjacent edge. String one 2.5mm bicone then pass through the next 2.5mm bicone and 4mm bicone along the edge.

Repeat to stitch a 2.5mm bicone between the existing 2.5mm bicones along the edge.

Step 10

Continue around the corner on the opposite end of the bracelet then repeat Steps 8 and 9 to stitch the clasp and 2.5mm bicones along the remaining edges.
