  • Ear wire, gold-plated brass, 18mm perfect balance angular fishhook with 3.5mm stardust ball and open loop, 22 gauge
  • Seed bead, TOHO BEADS®, glass, opaque antique bronze, (TR-11-223), #11 round
  • Seed bead, TOHO BEADS®, glass, opaque luster light beige, (TR-11-123), #11 round
  • Bead, Preciosa, Czech pressed glass, opaque iris purple, 5x4mm buckwheat
  • Bead, Preciosa, Czech pressed glass, opaque satin gold, 5x4mm buckwheat
  • Bead, gold-plated brass, 3mm round
  • Clasp, tab, gold-plated brass, 12mm filigree round
  • Jump ring, gold-plated brass, 6x4mm oval, 4.3x2.5mm inside diameter, 20 gauge
  • Thread, Berkley® FireLine®, gel-spun polyethylene, smoke, 0.15mm diameter 4-fiber braid, 6-pound test
  • Eye pin, gold-plated brass, 1-1/2 inches, 21 gauge
  • Head pin, gold-plated brass, 1-1/2 inches, 21 gauge


Instructions


Necklace Instructions

Step 1

Cut a 6-foot length of Berkley® FireLine® thread.


Thread a beading needle almost doubling the thread (to make it a shorter length to work with) but leave a tail so you are only working with one thread.


Beaded Beads

Step 2

Pick up five antique bronze #11 seed beads. Bring the seed beads toward the end of the thread, leaving a 6-inch tail.


Pass through all the beads again, pull tight to create a circle then tie a knot.

Step 3

Add two more rows using the tubular peyote stitch technique.

Pass through all the beads in the last row of peyote again.

Step 4

Pick up:


  • One gold buckwheat
  • One iris purple buckwheat
  • One gold buckwheat


Skip the next seed bead of the peyote row then pass through the next.

Step 5

Pick up:


  • One gold buckwheat
  • One iris purple buckwheat

Pass:


  • Back down through the last gold buckwheat added in Step 4
  • Through the seed bead passed through in Step 4
  • Back up through the gold buckwheat picked up
Step 6

Pick up:


  • One iris purple buckwheat
  • One gold buckwheat

Pass:


  • Back through the next seed bead of the peyote row
  • Back up through the last gold buckwheat added in Step 6
  • Through the iris purple buckwheat picked up
  • Through the gold buckwheat picked up
  • Through the next seed bead of the peyote row
Step 7

Repeat Step 5.

Step 8

Pick up an iris purple buckwheat.


Pass:


  • Down through the first gold buckwheat of the row
  • Back through the seed bead exited in Step 4
  • Back up through the last gold buckwheat added
  • Through the last iris purple buckwheat added
Step 9

Pick up a light beige #11 seed bead.


Pass through the next iris purple buckwheat.

Step 10

Pick up:


  • One light beige seed bead
  • One gold buckwheat
  • One antique bronze seed bead
  • One gold buckwheat

Pass:


  • Through the beige seed bead added in Step 9
  • Through the iris purple buckwheat passed through in Step 9
  • Through the light beige seed bead picked up
Step 11

Pass through the next iris purple buckwheat.


Pick up:


  • One light beige seed bead
  • One gold buckwheat
  • One antique bronze seed bead

Pass:


  • Back down through the first gold buckwheat added in Step 10
  • The light beige seed bead added in Step 10
  • Through the iris purple buckwheat passed through in this step
  • Through the light beige seed bead picked up
Step 12

Repeat Step 11 two more times. Then, without picking up the light beige seed bead, repeat Step 11 one more time.

Step 13

Pass:


  • Through the next iris purple buckwheat
  • Up through the adjacent gold buckwheat
Step 14

Pick up an antique bronze seed bead.


Pass:


  • Down through the last gold buckwheat added
  • Back through the next light beige seed bead
  • Back through the next iris purple buckwheat
  • Back through the next light beige seed bead
  • Up through the adjacent gold buckwheat
Step 15

Pass through all the antique bronze seed beads in the last row two times. This is now the first row of peyote stitch.

Step 16

Pass down through an adjacent gold buckwheat then pass back through all the light beige seed beads and iris purple buckwheat to add stability.


Pass up through an adjacent gold buckwheat and an antique bronze seed bead.

Step 17

Repeat Steps 3 - 16 eleven more times.

Step 18

Repeat Step 3 then weave through adjacent beads to secure the thread. If desired, add a knot for additional security.


Adding Beaded Strands

Step 19

Cut a 2-foot length of FireLine thread. Thread a beading needle onto each end, leaving a tail.

Step 20

Pass one beading needle through an antique bronze seed bead in the outer row of peyote on one end of the focal. Pass the second needle in the opposite direction through an adjacent seed bead in the same row.

Step 21

String an iris purple buckwheat onto each beading needle. Pass both needles, in opposite directions, through one light beige seed bead.


Repeat 16 more times.

Step 22

Pass both needles, in opposite directions, through seven light beige seed beads.


Pass both needs, in opposite directions, back through the last light beige seed bead added in Step 20. Pull tight to create a loop.

Step 23

Pass both needles back down through the ladder weave to secure. If desired add a knot for additional security.

Step 24

Use a jump ring to attach half of a tab clasp.

Step 25

Repeat Steps 19 - 24 to complete the opposite end of the necklace.


Earring Instructions


Beaded Beads

Step 1

Cut a 6-foot length of FireLine thread then thread a beading needle.

Step 2

Pick up five antique bronze #11 seed beads. Bring the seed beads toward the end of the thread, leaving a 6-inch tail.


Pass through all the beads again, pull tight to create a circle then tie a knot.

Step 3

Pick up:


  • One gold buckwheat
  • One iris purple buckwheat
  • One gold buckwheat


Skip the next seed bead of the peyote row then pass through the next.

Step 4

Pick up:


  • One gold buckwheat
  • One iris purple buckwheat

Pass:


  • Back down through the last gold buckwheat added in Step 4
  • Through the seed bead passed through in Step 4
  • Back up through the gold buckwheat picked up
Step 5

Pick up:


  • One iris purple buckwheat
  • One gold buckwheat

Pass:


  • Back through the next seed bead of the peyote row
  • Back up through the last gold buckwheat added in Step 6
  • Through the iris purple buckwheat picked up
  • Through the gold buckwheat picked up
  • Through the next seed bead of the peyote row
Step 6

Repeat Step 5.

Step 7

Pick up an iris purple buckwheat.


Pass:


  • Down through the first gold buckwheat of the row
  • Back through the seed bead exited in Step 4
  • Back up through the last gold buckwheat added
  • Through the last iris purple buckwheat added
Step 8

Pick up a light beige #11 seed bead.


Pass through the next iris purple buckwheat.

Step 9

Pick up:


  • One light beige seed bead
  • One gold buckwheat
  • One antique bronze seed bead
  • One gold buckwheat

Pass:


  • Through the beige seed bead added in Step 9
  • Through the iris purple buckwheat passed through in Step 9
  • Through the light beige seed bead picked up
Step 10

Pass:


  • Through the next iris purple buckwheat

Pick up:


  • One light beige seed bead
  • One gold buckwheat
  • One antique bronze seed bead

Pass:


  • Back down through the first gold buckwheat added in Step 10
  • The light beige seed bead added in Step 10
  • Through the iris purple buckwheat passed through in this step
  • Through the light beige seed bead picked up
Step 11

Repeat Step 11 two more times. Then, without picking up the light beige seed bead, repeat Step 11 one more time.

Step 12

Pass:


  • Through the next iris purple buckwheat
  • Up through the adjacent gold buckwheat
Step 13

Pick up an antique bronze seed bead.


Pass:


  • Down through the last gold buckwheat added
  • Back through the next light beige seed bead
  • Back through the next iris purple buckwheat
  • Back through the next light beige seed bead
  • Up through the adjacent gold buckwheat
Step 14

Pass through all the antique bronze seed beads in the last row two times. This is now the first row of peyote stitch.

Step 15

Pass down through an adjacent gold buckwheat then pass back through all the light beige seed beads and iris purple buckwheat to add stability.


Pass up through an adjacent gold buckwheat and an antique bronze seed bead.

Step 16

Pass through a few adjacent beads to secure. If desired add a knot for additional security.

Step 17

Repeat Steps 1 - 16 to create a second beaded bead.


Assembling Earrings

Step 18

String onto a head pin a 3mm gold-plated brass round, a beaded bead and a 3mm round then create a simple loop.


Repeat to create a second drop.

Step 19

String onto an eye pin then create a simple loop:


  • One gold buckwheat
  • One light beige seed bead
  • One iris purple buckwheat
  • One light beige seed bead
  • One gold buckwheat


Repeat to create a second link.

Step 20

Pass the loop of a drop through a loop of a beaded link then close. Pass the loop of an ear wire through the opposite loop of the beaded link then close.


Repeat to complete the second earring.
