Instructions

Step 1

Cut two 3-yard lengths of smoke FireLine® thread.

Step 2

Thread a beading needle onto one length of thread, leaving a tail approximately 6 inches long.

Step 3

Tie the tail of the thread to one 18mm hammered hoop drop, adjacent to loop.

Row 1

Step 4

Pick up one opaque iris silver #8 round and one translucent blue #8 round. Pass the needle through the hoop then back through the second seed bead in the opposite direction.

Step 5

Pick up one transparent light blue #8 round then pass the needle through the hoop then back through the seed bead just added in the opposite direction.

Step 6

Repeat Steps 4 and 5 until the first row of seed beads has been beaded around the hoop.

Step 7

Pass the needle back down through the last seed bead added from Step 6, through the open hoop and back up through the same seed bead. Pull tight to secure Row 1.

Row 2

Step 8

Pick up two translucent blue #8 rounds, pass the needle under the thread between the last two seed beads from Row 1 then back up through the last seed bead added in this step.

Step 9

Pick up one translucent blue #8 round then pass the needle under the thread between the next two seed beads from Row 1 and back up through the seed bead just added.

Repeat this step to until Row 2 is complete.

Step 10

Pass the needle through adjacent seed beads several times then pull the thread tight to secure. Trim excess thread. Thread the needle onto the tail and repeat.

Step 11

String four denim lapis chips onto an eye pin then form a simple loop.

Step 12

String a sunset dumortierite 12mm puffed flat round onto a head pin then begin to form a wrapped loop. Pass the loop through the loop of the open hoop (so the sunset dumortierite drop is suspended inside the hoop) then finish the wrapped loop.

Step 13

Attach one end of the denim lapis link to the loop of the open hoop then attach the opposite end to an earstud to complete the earring.

Step 14

Repeat Steps 2 - 13 to create a second earring.
