Instructions
Cut a 9-foot length of thread.
Thread a wide-eye needle onto the thread, almost doubling the thread but leaving a tail so you are only working with one thread.
Pick up nine iris blue half moon beads. Pass the needle through the same hole and in the same direction of all nine beads again, exiting the last bead added. Pull tight to form a circle. Leave approximately 6 inches of tail.
Pass the needle through the outer hole of the last bead from the previous step.
Pick up one dark bronze luster half moon then pass the needle through the outer hole of the next bead from the first row.
Repeat to create a second row of nine dark bronze luster beads then pass the needle through the outer hole of the same bead from Step 4.
Pick up one metallic bronze #11 round, one iris blue half moon and one metallic bronze #11 round.
Pass the needle through the outer hole of the next bead from the previous row.
Repeat this pattern all the way around, going through the first bead in this row again to secure the row.
Repeat Step 4 then pick up one metallic bronze #11 round, one "pewter" 6x5mm oval and one metallic bronze #11 round.
Pass the needle through the outer hole of the next half moon.
Repeat this pattern all the way around then pass the needle through all fourth row beads a second time to reinforce the row, exiting a metallic bronze #11 round.
Pick up one iris purple 4mm round, one metallic bronze #11 round, one iris purple 4mm round, one 8x7mm cylinder with loop, one iris purple 4mm round, one metallic bronze #11 round and one iris purple 4mm round.
Skip over the previous 7x5mm oval and metallic bronze #11 round from the fourth row then pass the needle through the same metallic bronze #11 round and 7x5mm oval. Pull tight, forming a circle out of the newly added beads.
Temporarily remove the wide-eye needle from the working end and thread it onto the tail from Step 3.
Pick up three metallic bronze #11 rounds, one iris purple 10mm round and three metallic bronze #11 rounds then pass the needle through the inner hole of the half moon bead on the opposite side of the circle.
Weave the remaining tail throughout the design to secure then thread the beading needle back on to the working end.
Position a glass cabochon with the curved side against the flat side of the beaded design.
Pick up one iris purple 4mm round then pass the needle through the next 7x5mm oval in row 4.
Repeat this pattern to add the first inner row of 4mm rounds to cover the cabochon, passing the needle through the first 7x5mm oval and the first 4mm round added in this row. Pull tight.
Pick up one iris purple 4mm round then pass through the next 4mm round from inner row 1.
Repeat this pattern to create a second inner row of 4mm rounds. Pull tight.
Repeat the pattern in Steps 12 and 13 to add two rows of iris bronze #6 rounds and three rows of metallic bronze #11 rounds. Pull tight after each row.
To finish, pick up one #15 round then pass through the next #11 round. Continue this pattern to add #15 rounds in between each of the #11 rounds in this last row. Weave the remaining tail (or approximately 6-8 inches) throughout the design to secure. Trim excess thread.
Pass one twisted jump ring through the loop of the cylinder bead in the bail and a chain then close.
