Learn the Flat Spiral Rope Seed Bead Stitch

Embark on your creative journey with seed beads today by mastering the fundamentals of the flat spiral rope seed bead stitch. Follow along with Rose in this step-by-step video tutorial.


Instructions

Step 1

Cut an arm's length of Fireline® thread and add a beading needle. Add a stop bead to the end of the thread.

Step 2

Pick up two sets of the following:


  • One 6mm bead cap
  • One 8mm acrylic round
  • One 6mm bead cap

Step 3

Pick up:


  • Six seed beads
  • One 3mm bead cap
  • One 4mm acrylic round
  • One 3mm bead cap
  • Six seed beads

Pass through the large beads/bead caps again. Pull tight to loop the smaller beads, pushing them to the one side of the large beads.


Repeat to create a second loop of beads, pushing them to the opposite side.

Step 4

Pick up:


  • One 6mm bead cap
  • One 8mm round
  • One 6mm bead cap
  • Six seed beads
  • One 3mm bead cap

  • One 4mm round
  • One 3mm bead cap
  • Six seed beads


Pass through the last two large beads/bead caps. Pull tight to loop. Repeat to add a second loop of smaller beads.


Repeat as needed to reach the desired length. Tie a small knot to secure the thread and trim any excess.

Step 5

Cut an arm's length of thread and add a beading needle. Add a stop bead to the end of the thread.

Step 6

Pick up two sets of the following:


  • One 6mm bead cap
  • One 8mm acrylic round
  • One 6mm bead cap

Pick up six seed beads

Pass through the first small beads/bead caps of the previous row then pick up six seed beads. Pass through the large beads/bead caps, pull tight to create a loop. Push the loop toward the first row.

Step 7

Pick up the following:

  • Six seed beads
  • One 3mm bead cap
  • One 4mm round
  • One 3mm bead cap
  • Six seed beads


Pass through the two large beads/bead caps and pull tight to create a loop on the other side.

Step 8

Repeat Steps 5 and 6, picking up only one set of large beads/bead caps, until the length matches the first row.

Step 9

Tie a small knot to secure and trim any excess thread.

Step 10

Prepare a small length of thread with a beading needle.


Thread a jump ring around a loop of beads at the end of the bracelet and through the loop of a clasp. Tightly wrap the thread around the loop of beads and the jump ring to secure in place. Tie a small knot then trim excess thread.


Repeat to attach the three remaining loops of the clasp.
