Instructions

The lower section:

  • Row 1 – String eight Preciosa Twin™ Czech glass orange 5x2.5mm oval seed beads onto 0.2mm nylon thread. Tie a knot so the beads are in a circle. Insert the line into the second hole of the bead which is nearest to the knot so you can string a new row.
  • Row 2 – Add one orange seed bead to each gap between the seed beads from the previous row for a total of eight. As you string the beads, thread the line through the outside hole of one of the seed beads from the first row and then through the following seed bead from the second row. Continue in this manner until all eight beads for the second row have been strung between the seed beads from the first row.
  • Row 3 – String two orange seed beads into every gap in the second row for a total of 16, stringing the thread through the outside holes of the seed beads in Row 2 as you did previously.
  • Row 4 – String one orange seed bead into each gap in Row 3, for a total of 16, stringing the thread through the outside holes of the seed beads in Row 3 as you did previously.
  • Row 5 – For Row 5, you will be stringing a total of 20 seed beads. This means that you should string one seed bead in each of three consecutive gaps and two seed beads in every fourth gap. Use a black seed beads in one of the places where the two seed beads are added. There will be one black seed bead in the second gap to the left and the right of the addition. Connect to the previous row as you did before.
  • Row 6 – For Row 6, you will be stringing one seed bead into each gap for a total of 20. Six of these beads will be black. The black seed beads will go on either side of the three black sections from Row 5. Connect to the previous row as you did before.
  • Row 7 – For Row 7, you will be stringing a total of 24 seed beads. Four of them will be black. String seed bead in four consecutive gaps. Add two seed beads to every fifth gap. The black seed beads will go on either side of the three black sections from Row 6. Connect to the previous row as you did before.
  • Row 8 – String one seed bead into each gap for a total of 24. Only one bead will be black. This bead will go above the center of the mouth, directly above the two black seed beads next to each other from Row 5. Connect to the previous row as you did before.
  • Row 9 – String one seed bead into each gap for a total of 24. Two beads will be black. The black beads will go on either side of the single black bead from Row 8. Connect to the previous row as you did before.

The upper section:

  • Row 1 – Like the lower section in Step 1, Row 1
  • Row 2 – Like the lower section in Step 1, Row 2
  • Row 3 – Like the lower section in Step 1, Row 3
  • Row 4 – Like the lower section in Step 1, Row 4
  • Row 5 – The amount and method of adding the beads is the same as for the lower section. String two black seed beads in the front section, each one separately. There will be four orange seed beads between them, with the two center orange beads occupying the same gap.
  • Row 6 – The amount and method of adding the beads is the same as for the lower section. Sew one black seed bead on both sides of the black seed beads from the previous row.
  • Row 7 – The amount and method of adding the beads is the same as for the lower section. Add two black seed beads to the gaps between the black seed beads from the previous row.
  • Row 8 – The amount and method of adding the beads is the same as for the lower section. Sew on one black seed bead in the center between the eyes.

Both halves are now finished. Place them together and sew them up. Thread the lines through the holes. Sew in the ends of the lines.

String a small round bead onto a long eye pin. Then thread the pin through both openings in the pumpkin, the lower first, and then the upper. Finish the eye pin with a simple loop at the top of the pumpkin, Connect two 8mm jump rings to the simple loop. Hang the pumpkin on a chain, key ring carabiner or string. Connect the string to the finishing piece with the loop and adhere or crimp it to the metal part. It is possible to attach a ball chain and to fix it to the carabiner.
