- Bead, silver-plated, 2.5mm round, brass.
- Bead, silver-plated, 4x2mm heishi, brass.
- Bead, transparent medium blue, Celestial Crystal® 6mm bicone.
- Seed bead, Preciosa Ornela Czech glass, #8 rocaille, transparent silver-lined grey, (47010).
- Seed bead, Preciosa Ornela Czech glass, #8 rocaille, transparent clear, (00050).
- Seed bead, Preciosa Ornela, glass, transparent aquamarine, #8 rocaille.
- Seed bead, Preciosa Ornela, glass, transparent silver-lined sapphire blue, #8 rocaille.
- Seed bead, Preciosa Ornela Czech glass, #8 rocaille, transparent terra intensive sea green-lined clear, (08A58).
- Crimp cover, silver-plated brass, 2mm round.
- Jump ring, silver-plated, 4.5mm round, 20 gauge / 2.9mm inside diameter / brass.
- Ear wire French hook, silver-plated, 20mm / open loop, 20 gauge brass.
- Thread, TOHO BEADS®, One-G™, nylon, light grey, size 0.
- Component, silver-plated brass, 23x13mm single-sided diamond-cut open diamond, 1.3mm thick.
- Needle, Tulip, nickel- and gold-plated steel, #11 with 0.52mm eye width, 2 inches.
Instructions
Cut two 30-inch lengths of One-G™ nylon thread. Thread each length onto a size 11 beading needle.
Pass the needle through the top hole of one silver-plated open diamond component, leaving a 4-inch tail. Secure the thread by weaving back through the component and tying a small knot. Trim the excess thread.
String a mix of #8 rocaille seed beads onto the thread to create one fringe strand. Use a combination of:
- Transparent silver-lined sapphire blue seed beads
- Transparent aquamarine seed beads
- Transparent sea green-lined clear seed beads
- Transparent silver-lined grey seed beads
- Transparent clear seed beads
Vary the color placement to create a flowing, blended look.
String one 2.5mm silver-plated round bead, one 4x2mm heishi bead and one Celestial Crystal® 6mm bicone onto the end of the strand.
Pass the needle back up through the beads (excluding the final bead if desired to create a drop effect), pulling snug to form a fringe.
Pass the needle back through the top component to anchor the strand. Continue adding additional fringe strands across the bottom edge of the diamond component, varying lengths slightly for a cascading effect.
Tip: Create approximately 15 to 20 fringe strands per earring, adjusting spacing evenly across the component.
Repeat Steps 3 - 5 until the component is filled with evenly spaced fringe strands.
Secure the final strand by weaving the thread back through several beads and the component. Tie off and trim excess thread.
Repeat Steps 2 - 7 to create the second earring.
Using chain-nose pliers, open one 4.5mm jump ring. Attach it to the top loop of the diamond component.
Attach the loop on one 20mm French hook ear wire to the jump ring. Close the jump ring securely.
Repeat Steps 8 - 9 for the second earring.
Check to make sure all connections are secure. Trim any excess thread and adjust the fringe strands so they hang evenly.
