- Wire, sterling silver, full-hard, round, 24 gauge
- Chain, sterling silver, 4x3mm flat cable
- Jump ring, sterling silver, 4mm round, 2.4mm inside diameter, 20 gauge
- Wire, sterling silver-filled, dead-soft, round, 20 gauge
- Bead, blue sapphire (heated), 7x5mm-12x8mm graduated hand-cut top-drilled faceted puffed teardrop, B grade, Mohs hardness 9
- Ear wire, sterling silver, 18mm flat fishhook with 2.5mm ball and 2mm coil with open loop, 21 gauge
- Component, sterling silver, 12mm round square wire
- Bead, blue sapphire (dyed), dark, 4x2mm-6x4mm hand-cut faceted rondelle, C grade, Mohs hardness 9
Instructions
Step 1
Cut one 12-inch length of 20-gauge wire and one 2-1/4 inch length of 25-gauge wire.
Step 2
Pass a teardrop bead halfway onto the 12-inch wire. Form a wrapped loop then spiral the wire down around the top of the teardrop.
Step 3
Form a simple loop on one end of the 2-1/4 inch wire. Pass on seven rondelle beads, the drop created in Step 2 and seven rondelle beads. Form a simple loop on the other end to secure.
Step 4
Cut two 6-link lengths of chain.
Open a jump ring. Slide on one length of chain and the round square wire component. Close the jump ring. Repeat to attach the other length of chain to the component. Attach the chains to the beaded wire created in Step 3.
Step 5
Cut one 1/2 inch length of 25-gauge wire. Form a simple loop on one end. Pass on a rondelle bead then form another simple loop to secure.
Use the link to attach an ear wire to the round square wire component.
Step 6
Repeat Steps 1 - 5 to create a second earring.
