- Adhesive, epoxy, Devcon® 2 Ton® Clear Epoxy, 30-minute, 2-part
- Wire, Artistic Wire®, copper, variegated pink / black / green, 0.81mm round, 20 gauge
- Bead, silver-plated brass, 2.5mm micro round
- Ear wire, electro-coated brass, assorted colors, 19mm flat fishhook with 3mm ball and open loop, 21 gauge
- Bead, Preciosa Czech crystal, opaque jet, 4mm faceted bicone
- Bead, Preciosa Czech crystal, crystal viridian, 4mm faceted bicone
- Bead, Preciosa Czech crystal, tanzanite, 3mm faceted bicone
- Bead, Preciosa Czech crystal, fuchsia, 3mm faceted bicone
- Head pin, electro-coated brass, green, 2 inches with 2mm ball, 21 gauge
- Hoop crimp, silver-plated brass, 9x5.5mm with 2 loops
Instructions
Step 1
Cut the following lengths of wire
- Two 1-1/2 inches
- Two 2-1/2 inches
- Two 3-1/2 inches
Step 2
String one 4mm jet bicone and one 2.5mm micro-round bead onto one 2-inch head pin then form a simple loop, creating a jet drop.
Step 3
Repeat using one 4mm crystal viridian bicone to create a crystal drop.
Step 4
String the following onto one 2-inch head pin:
- One 4mm jet bicone
- One 2.5mm micro-round bead
- One 3mm fuchsia bicone
- One 2.5mm micro-round bead
Form a simple loop to create a medium drop.
Step 5
String the following onto one 2-inch head pin:
- One 3mm fuchsia bicone
- One 2.5mm micro-round bead
- One 4mm jet bicone
- One 2.5mm micro-round bead
- One 3mm crystal viridian bicone
- One 2.5mm micro-round bead
- One 3mm tanzanite bicone
Form a simple loop to create a large drop.
Step 6
Wrap one 1-1/2 inch length of wire once around the 12mm jaw of the extra-large round mandrel pliers, creating an overlap of 1/2 inch. Trim overlap and approximately 1/4 inch of wire.
Step 7
Using a pair of round-nose pliers, form a simple loop on both ends.
Repeat using the 18mm jaw on the jump round mandrel pliers and one 2-1/2 inch length of wire.
Step 8
Repeat Step 6 using one 3-1/2 inch length of wire and a 26mm found object.
Insert one end of the wire into one end of the hoop crimp. Repeat using the opposite end of the wire and hoop crimp then crimp.
Use a toothpick to apply a small amount of glue to the ends for more security.
Step 9
Using the simple loops on each of the following to assemble end-to-end:
- One 1-1/2 inch length of shaped wire to one 2-1/2 inch length of shaped wire
- The previous length of shaped wire (2-1/2 inch) to one 3-1/2 inch length of shaped wire
Step 10
Use the simple loops on the following drops to attach to the center of their corresponding length of shaped wire:
- The jet drop to the 1-1/2 inch length
- The crystal drop to the 2-1/2 inch length
- The medium drop to the bottom of the 3-1/2 inch length
- The large drop to the loop on the hoop crimp on the top of the 3-1/2 inch length
- The loop on the ear wire to the top loop on the hoop crimp
Step 11
Repeat Steps 2 - 11 to create a second earring.
