I understand that tools such as pliers, etc. should be conditioned before use. How do I do this?
Good quality steel tools need little, if anything, in the way of conditioning for your use. Economy steel tools may have sharp edges along their jaws. Smooth any sharp edges with fine grits of steel wool or sanding pads. Do not take down more metal than is required to smooth away these edges.
Lubricants, such as WD-40, will keep steel tools in good working condition and rust free, especially when tools are in storage.
