Double-Strand Lariat-Style Necklace with Rhodonite Gemstone Beads and Sterling Silver Beads

The rhodonite necklace is designed using the clasp as the center piece, giving the necklace a casual and unique look.

STEP 1

For this necklace you will need two different lengths of Purely Silk thread to create the graduated effect. For the inner most strand you will need a length of thread totaling 43 inches, which will give you a finished strand 21-1/2 inches long. Add 5 inches for tying off the end of the strand. Thread your needle for the first strand, knot the end of your thread and cut off any excess thread up to the knot.
STEP 2
Pick up a bead tip, place a small amount of Hypo Tube Cement (glue) inside it and place the knot into the glue. (It helps to have a pair of tweezers to hold the bead tip.) Using the chain-nose pliers, close the bead tip making sure to wipe off any excess glue.

STEP 6
Add another split ring to the loop part of your clasp for the dangles. The dangles come out of a sterling silver triangle bead with one hole on the top and three holes on the bottom, this will separate the strands nicely. You'll need 8-inch of thread for the left and right dangles. Thread your needle, tie a knot at the end of the thread and attach a crimp bead. (Crimping instructions come with the crimping pliers.) Cut off any excess thread and thread the needle through the top of the sterling silver triangle bead, come out of the left hole.
