Single-Strand Necklace with Swarovski Crystal Beads

Elegant Montana color Swarovski crystal rounds are a lively addition to delicate gold.
STEP 1
Place a Montana crystal onto a headpin. Using chain-nose pliers, bend the wire above the crystal to a 90 degree angle. Using the side-cutting pliers, trim the wire to 1/2 inch.
STEP 2
Place the thumbnail of your non-dominant hand at the bend in the wire. Using your dominant hand, grip the end of the wire with the round-nose pliers, then rotate your wrist to create a simple loop centered above the crystal.
STEP 3
Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for the remaining Montana crystals.
STEP 4
Repeat Steps 1 and 2 using the Montana AB crystals, to complete 67 drops.
STEP 5
Using chain-nose pliers, open the loop on a Montana AB crystal drop by lifting the loop open without pulling the loop out of the round.
STEP 6
Link the open loop on the crystal drop to the 18th chain link from the ring end of the chain.
STEP 7
Close the loop by reversing the opening motion in Step 5.
STEP 8
Open the loop on a Montana crystal drop like you did in Step 5. Link the open loop through the chain, two links away from the first drop, on the opposite side of the link from the first drop (so it rests on the other side of the chain).

Close the link with chain-nose pliers
STEP 9
Continue adding crystals, alternating Montana AB and plain Montana crystals, and skipping a link between each crystal drop until the necklace is complete.
Note:
  1. All of the AB crystals will be on one side of the chain
  2. The last crystal will be attached to the 15th link from the springring end of the chain
  3. Double check to make sure all loops are tightly closed
