Bracelet with Sterling Silver Drop Components and Amethyst Gemstone Go-Go Beads

Whimsical and elegant at the same time, this bracelet incorporates beautiful butterfly connectors and rich amethyst and garnet gemstone components. Quartz and button pearls chime in with yet more notes of subtle color.

STEP 1
String a pearl onto a headpin. Put the headpin through a loop on the butterfly connector, working from front to back. Wrap the wire up over the loop then back through; pull the headpin so the pearl is tight against the loop. Wrap the wire up over the loop again then wrap the wire above the pearl, like a wrapped loop, to secure the headpin in place. Repeat, adding pearls to the top two and the bottom two swirls on the butterfly's wings. Finally, string a garnet on a headpin and place it (as you did the pearls) in the top loop of the butterfly connector. Repeat seven times so you decorate all eight butterfly connectors. Set aside.
STEP 2
Nestle a rondelle in the center of a go-go so the holes of the two beads line up. Pass a headpin through the wide side of the go-go, through the rondelle, and on through the thin side of the go-go. Make a wrapped loop that captures a soldered jumpring. String a pearl onto a headpin and make a wrapped loop that captures the jumpring just placed. Repeat so you add one more pearl and one more garnet. Set aside.
STEP 3
Cut a 3-inch piece of wire. Nestle a rondelle in the center of a go-go as you did before, but this time pass the wire you just cut through the holes. Make a wrapped loop on one end of the wire that captures the top loop of a butterfly connector. When you make the loop, be sure the garnet stays upright. Snug the go-go against the wrapped loop and make another wrapped loop with the other end of the wire that captures the top loop of a second butterfly connector. Repeat until you have three sets of two butterflies linked with a go-go in the middle. Set aside.
STEP 4
Place two of the go-go links end-to-end so the butterflies touch.
STEP 5
Cut a 1-1/2 inch piece of wire and string a quartz bead. Make a wrapped loop with one end of the wire that captures an end loop of one of the butterflies you placed end-to-end. Snug the quartz bead against the wrapped loop. Make another wrapped loop with the other end of the wire that captures the opposing loop of the opposite butterfly connector.
STEP 6
Repeat, connecting the loops on the other side of the butterflies.
STEP 7
Repeat, so every butterfly connector is linked and you have a chain of butterfly connectors and go-gos.
STEP 8
Cut a 1-1/2 inch piece of wire and string one quartz bead. Make a wrapped loop with one end of the wire that captures the jumpring added in Step 2. Make another wrapped loop with the other end of the wire that captures a second jumpring. Make another of these quartz links to connect the jumpring just added and the top hole of a butterfly connector at one end of the chain.
STEP 9
Use a jumpring to attach the clasp to the other end of the chain.
