Single-Strand Necklace with Horn Beads and Focal, Wood Beads and Hemp Cord

Using the scissors, cut two 26-inch lengths of 1mm black cord.
Fold one 26-inch length in half. Place the loop through the hole on the horn station. Pass the ends of the cord through the loop and pull the cord tight, forming a lark's head knot, securing the station in place.

Repeat with second cord through the same hole so that one strand goes to each side of station.
Using one two-strand half of the necklace, pass the cords through the holes on a horn button, working from the back to the front and from the front to the back. Repeat to add a total of three buttons to this half.

Space the first three buttons approximately 1-1/2 inches apart, starting from the station working toward the ends.

Measure the cord, from the station to the end, so it is 9 inches in length. Tie a half hitch knot to hold the last button in place. Repeat to make two more half hitch knots. Place a small amount of glue on the cords by the last knot to secure. Using scissors, trim any excess cording.

Tie button to this end of necklace cord. Pass cord through one hole from back to front, then from front to back in second hole. Tie off on back of button. Use a small drop of glue to seal knot.
Using the second half of cords, string on three buttons as you did in Step 3. Space the three buttons approximately 1-1/2 inches apart, starting at the station.

Measure from the station to the ends then loop the cord and tie an overhand knot that rests 2 inches from the end (8 inches from the station). This will create a large loop which will be used to capture the button on the other side of the necklace, serving as the clasp.
Cut 100 pieces of 0.5mm black cord 5 inches in length.
Use an overhand knot to tie each piece of cord along the cording, between the buttons.
Add one round or tube bead, in a random pattern, to the ends of each of the cord tassels. Tie an overhand knot under the bead to hold it in place on the cord.

Trim the cords that are near the station to allow for better visualization.
