STEP 2
Place one Swarovski 6mm faceted red magma crystal onto a headpin. Finish the end with a simple loop. Repeat to create a total of 12, 6mm faceted red magma crystal drops.

Using one headpin and one crystal for each crystal bead drop, repeat to create the following:
  • Twenty eight 6mm air blue opal crystal drops
  • One 8mm air blue opal crystal
  • Twelve 6mm platinum pearl drops
  • Sixteen 8mm platinum pearl drops

Assembling the Chain

STEP 3
Using side-cutting pliers, cut the following lengths of gold-filled double link chain:
  • Two 9-1/2 inch
  • Two 10-inch
  • Two 10-1/2 inches
  • Two 1-3/4 inches
STEP 4
Using side-cutting pliers, cut the following lengths of 20-gauge wire:
  • Nine 1-1/2 inches
  • Two 2-1/2 inches
STEP 5
Using a 1-1/2 inch piece of wire, create a simple loop on one end. Pass the wire through the first hole on a 5-hole spacer bar. Create a simple loop on the other end of the wire.

Repeat to place a double-loop wire in the middle hole of the spacer bar and last hole on the spacer bar, leaving the second and third hole empty, for now.
STEP 6
Repeat Step 5 to add double-loop wires, with a loop on each end, in the first, third and fifth holes on the remaining two spacer bars.
STEP 7

Using a 2-1/2 inch piece of wire, create a simple loop on one end. Continue to spiral the end of the wire to form a double layer of loops. Bend the spiral perpendicular to the wire. Pass the wire through the second hole on one of the 5-hole spacer bars. Bend approximately 1/8 inch of the wire 45 degrees inward, then straighten the wire and create a loop 3/4 inch long by 1/2 inch wide. Pass the wire through the double links on one end of a 1-3/4 inch length of chain. Gently bend the wire 45 degrees outward and pass the wire through the fourth hole on the spacer bar. Create a spiral on the end of the wire to match the spiral on the other end.

Repeat on a second spacer bar.
STEP 8
Using two pairs of chain-nose pliers, open a 3mm jumpring. Pass the open ring through the last link on the 1-3/4 inch length of chain used in step 7 and the loop on the toggle end of the clasp. Close the jumpring.

Repeat to attach the last link of the second piece of 1-3/4 inch chain to the second half of the clasp.
STEP 9
Open a 9mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on the first and third eyepins attached to the spacer bar, capturing the wire added in Step 7 so it floats in the center of the jumpring. Close the jumpring.

Repeat to add a jumpring to the loops on the third and fifth eyepins attached to the spacer bar.
STEP 10
Repeat Step 9 to add 9mm jumprings to the second spacer bar.
STEP 11
Open the first loop on one spacer bar connected to the clasp. Pass the open loop through the double 3.5mm links on the end of one 10-1/2 inch length of chain. Close the loop. Attach the double 3.5mm links on the opposite end of the chain to the first loop on the spacer bar made in Step 5.
STEP 12
Repeat Step 11 to attach the double 3.5mm links on the ends of one 10-inch length of chain to the middle loops on the spacer bars.
STEP 13
Repeat Step 11 to attach the double 3.5mm links on the end of one 9-1/2 inch length of chain to the fifth loop on the spacer bars.
STEP 14
Repeat Steps 11 - 13 to attach the remaining 9-1/2 inch, 10-inch, and 10-1/2 inch chains to the second half of the necklace.

Drop Assembly

Inside Chain
STEP 15

Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, open the loop on one end of one 6mm air blue opal beading link. Pass the open loop through one 3.5mm link on the end of the chain connected to the upper loop on the inside spacer bar. Close the loop. Attach the opposite loop of the beading link to a 3.5mm link on the other side of the 10mm link to capture the beading link inside the open circle.

Repeat five times adding an air blue opal beading link to each of the 10mm links for a total of six air blue opal beading links on the first half of the inside chain. Make sure to attach the beading links on the same side of each chain link so the necklace will lie flat.

Repeat to add a beading link to the same six 10mm links on the second half of inside chain.
STEP 16

Open the loop on a 6mm red magma crystal drop and attach it to the first 10mm link closet to the center spacer bar. Close the loop. Make sure to attach the drops on the same side of each link so the necklace will lie flat.

Repeat to attach a 6mm red magma crystal drop to six more 10mm links of the chain for a total of seven drops.
