Necklace

Creating Components

STEP 1
Print the pdf template (PDF) at 100% size. Use a glue stick, or other temporary glue, to affix the template to a 6x6-inch sheet of jeweler's bronze.
STEP 2
Use a jeweler's saw and a bench pin to cut the three template shapes.
STEP 3
Use EUROTOOL® hole punch pliers to create holes in the bronze focal components, as marked on the template.
STEP 4
Place one large component on a flat work surface, front side up. Use a texturing hammer to texture the metal. Flip the focal over and texture the back surface, creating a gentle curve.

Repeat to texture the second large component and the small component.
STEP 5
Use the Jooltool™ to polish the front and back of the components and smooth the edges.
STEP 6
Mix Devcon® 5-minute epoxy according to manufacturer's instructions.

Apply a small amount of adhesive to the setting of a 17x7mm teardrop and the back of a 14x3.9mm blush rose raindrop flatback. Gently press the flatback and set aside to dry.

Repeat to create a total of three blush rose raindrop drops and six crystal silver night flame drops.

Creating Macramé

STEP 7
Cut 16 6-foot lengths and six 2-foot lengths of 0.9mm C-Lon cord.
STEP 8
String three 6mm jump rings onto eight 6-foot lengths of cord. Bring the jump rings to the center of the cords then secure to the work surface with pins.
STEP 9
Using the outermost cords on each side of the group, create a square knot around the remaining cords.
STEP 10
Approximately 10mm down, cross the outer cords at the center of the knotting cords, right over left, and secure with a pin. These are now the holding cords.
STEP 11
On the left holding cord, starting with the outer knotting cord, create tight double half hitch knots with the three left knotting cords.

Repeat with the right holding and knotting cords.
STEP 12
Create a double half hitch knot on the left holding cord with the right holding cord.
STEP 13
Bring the holding cords out and position at a downward diagonal angle and secure with a pin.

Use pins to position the knotting cords in a wave-like pattern as shown in the image.
STEP 14
Using double half hitch knots and positioning the knotting cords in wave-like patterns, create two diamond shapes.
STEP 15
Separate all the cords into pairs. With one pair of cords create 16 alternating half hitch knots, then secure with pins.

Repeat with the three remaining pairs of cord.
STEP 16
Remove the pins from the first two pairs of cords.

Hold the first pair of cords together as one cord in one hand and the second pair of cords as one cord in the other.

Create 10 alternating half hitch knots then secure all four cords together with pins.

Repeat with the two remaining pairs of cords.
STEP 17
Remove the pins from both sets of four cords.

Hold each set of four cords as one cord then create five alternating half hitch knots.
STEP 18
Apply E6000® Fray Lock™ to the ends of the cord then secure with a 13x6mm ribbon crimp.
STEP 19
Repeat Steps 7 - 18 to create a second length of macramé.
STEP 20
Secure the six 2-foot lengths of cord to an 8mm jump ring using lark's head knots.
STEP 21
Approximately 7mm down, cross the outer cords at the center of the knotting cords, right over left, and secure with a pin. These are now the holding cords.
STEP 22
On the left holding cord, starting with the outer knotting cord, create tight double half hitch knots with the two left knotting cords.

Repeat with the right holding and knotting cords.
STEP 23
Create a double half hitch knot on the left holding cord with the right holding cord.
STEP 24
Bring the holding cords out and position at a downward diagonal angle and secure with a pin.

Use pins to position the knotting cords in wave-like patterns as shown in the image.
STEP 25
Using double half hitch knots and positioning the knotting cords in wave-like patterns, create a diamond shape.
STEP 26
Pass the holding cords through the top hole of the small focal component. Bring the knotting cords around to the front of the component.
STEP 27
Use double half hitch knots to create a diamond shape.
STEP 28
Trim any excess cord and secure with E6000 Fray Lock.

Assembling the Necklace

STEP 29
Cut two 1-1/2 inch lengths of curb chain.
STEP 30
Open the jump ring attached to the macramé of the small component. Pass the jump ring through the inner holes of the two large components, then close.
STEP 31
Use 6mm jump rings to connect the flame and raindrop drops to the bottom holes of each component.
STEP 32
Attach a 6mm jump ring to the two top holes of a large component. Repeat with the second large component.
STEP 33
Use a 6mm jump ring to connect the triple jump rings attached to a length of macramé and the two top jump rings added to a large component in Step 32.

Repeat with the second length of macramé and the jump rings attached to the second large component.
STEP 34
Use a 6mm jump ring to connect a ribbon crimp end to the first link of a 1-1/2 inch length of chain.

Use a 4mm jump ring to attach half of a toggle clasp to the opposite end of the chain.

Repeat with the second length of chain and the remaining ribbon crimp to complete the necklace.
