Sometimes jewelry just says it best and this week's featured necklace in honor of Patriot Day proves that. The powerful message spelled out in alphabet letter beads is touching and helps to show support for the people killed in the September 11 attacks. Their antiqued pewter finish blends well with the black leather cord, offering a more masculine look and feel. Alphabet letter beads allow you to add names, favorite sayings, affirmations and more to jewelry designs. Blank alphabet letter beads can be used for spacing ...

Preparing the Beads

STEP 1
Using a paint brush, apply a layer of black Pebeo porcelain paint to the surface of each of the pewter alphabet and number beads, completely coating each bead.
STEP 2
Set the beads aside for 24 hours to dry. Once dry, bake at 300-degrees Fahrenheit (150-degrees Celsius) for 35 minutes to cure.
STEP 3
Using the Jooltool™, carefully remove the layer of paint on the raised part of each of the letter and number beads, exposing the base pewter on each bead. Repeat on each face of each bead.
