Single-Strand Necklace with Fancy Jasper Gemstone Focal and Moss Agate Gemstone Nuggets

STEP 1
Using side-cutting pliers, cut one 4-1/2 inch length of sterling silver 18-gauge round wire.
STEP 2
Thread one fancy jasper fish onto the 4-1/2 inch length of sterling silver 18-gauge round wire. Using a pair of round-nose pliers, chain-nose pliers and side-cutting pliers, finish the end with a briolette wrapped loop.
STEP 3
Using the side-cutting pliers, cut a 22-inch length of Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire. String onto the wire, one crimp tube, one 5x2mm black onyx rondelle, and the bar inside the end cap on the spring ring portion of the clasp. Pass the beading wire back through the bead and the crimp tube leaving one end of the wire approximately 1-inch long. Pull the crimp tight against bead and clasp. Place a small amount of adhesive inside the crimp (optional).

Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using the side-cutting pliers, trim the excess wire from the short end.

For a more finished look, place a crimp cover over the crimp tube then gently close it.
STEP 4
String onto the beading wire:
  • One 8x5mm black onyx rondelle
  • One moss agate 3-sided hand-knapped nugget
  • One 10mm fancy jasper rondelle bead
  • One moss agate 3-sided hand-knapped nugget
Repeat three times for a total of four sets.
STEP 5
String onto the beading wire:
  • One 8x5mm black onyx rondelle
  • The loop of the briolette wrapped fancy jasper fish
  • One 8x5mm black onyx rondelle
STEP 6
Repeat Step 4 backwards, to create the second half of the strand in a mirror image of the first half of the strand.
STEP 7
String on one crimp tube, one 5x2mm black onyx rondelle, and the bar inside the end cap on the second portion of the clasp. Pull the wire back through the bead and the crimp tube. Make sure there is no slack along the entire length of the necklace, yet the strand is not so tight that it is rigid. Place a small amount of adhesive inside the crimp.

Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using side-cutting pliers, trim the excess wire from the end.

Place a crimp cover over the crimp tube, then gently close it.
