Single-Strand Necklace with Lampworked Glass Focal, Silver-Plated Beads and Rubber Cord

STEP 1
Using side-cutting pliers, cut one 17-inch length of black rubber cord.
STEP 2
String onto the black rubber cord one of each of the following components:
  • 6mm silver-plated rondelle bead
  • 9mm silver-plated round bead
  • 6mm silver-plated rondelle bead
  • 9mm silver-plated round bead
  • 6mm silver-plated rondelle bead
  • 9mm silver-plated round bead
STEP 3
String onto the black rubber cord one white and black glass heart focal piece.
STEP 4
Repeat Step 2, backwards, to create the second half of the strand in a mirror image of the first half of the strand.
STEP 5
Insert a drop of glue into a cord tip, and then press one end of the black rubber cord into the cord tip. Using chain-nose pliers, gently bend the edges of the cord tip around the cord. Repeat to attach a cord tip to the other end of the black rubber cord.
STEP 6
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open a 4mm jumpring. Pass it through the first cord tip attached to one end of the black rubber cord and the loop on the toggle bar half of the clasp. Close the jumpring.

Repeat to attach the other end of the cord to the toggle ring half of the clasp.

Tip: The beads fit snugly on the cording used in this design and can be positioned wherever you want them.
