Single-Strand Necklace and Earring Set with Seed Beads, Gold-Plated Brass Beads and Celestial Crystal® Beads

Necklace

STEP 1
Using one pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open a 4.5mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on the toggle bar portion of the clasp. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach a jumpring to the toggle ring portion of the clasp.
STEP 2
Using the flush-cutters, cut a 24-inch length of Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire. String onto the wire one crimp bead, a 1/2 inch piece of French wire and the jumpring attached to the toggle-bar portion of the clasp. Loop the beading wire back through the crimp bead. The French wire should pass over the jumpring in a nicely curved tube. Pull the crimp tight against the French wire and the jumpring--leaving one end of the wire approximately 1-inch long. Place a small amount of gel adhesive inside the crimp (optional).

Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using flush-cutters, trim the excess wire from the short end of Accu-Flex®.
STEP 3
String onto the beading wire the following:
  • One 4mm corrugated round gold plated bead
  • One 4mm heishi gold plated bead
  • One 4mm corrugated round gold plated bead
  • One 4mm faceted round crystal bead
  • One 4mm corrugated round gold plated bead

  • One 5mm corrugated round gold plated bead

  • One 5mm corrugated round gold plated bead
  • One 4mm heishi gold plated bead
  • One 5mm corrugated round gold plated bead
  • Forty #8 ruby red seed beads
STEP 4
Repeat Step 3, backwards, to create the second half of the strand in a mirror image of the first half of the strand.
STEP 5
String on one crimp bead and a 1/2 inch piece of French wire. Pass the beading wire through the jumpring on the toggle ring portion of the clasp and back through the crimp bead. Then pull the wire snugly so the crimp and the French wire are closer to the jumpring and there is no slack in the beading wire. Place a small amount of gel adhesive inside the crimp (optional).

Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using flush-cutters, trim excess wire from the end.
STEP 6
Using scissors, cut a 3-yard length of thread and add a needle to the end of the thread that is first off the spool.

Pick up eight fringe beads in a random pattern, leaving a six inch tail. Pass through the first #8 seed bead on the necklace. Pass through the eight fringe beads again and then pass through the same #8 seed bead again. As you pull the thread through this will create a circle. This will be the base row for your tubular peyote. Anchor the thread through the #8 seed bead you already used to hold the circle in place.
STEP 7
Pick up one fringe bead then pass through the third fringe bead in your base row (in other words skip one bead from where your needle exited the circle). String another fringe bead, skip a bead in the base row, and pass through the fifth bead in the row. Repeat this pattern until you go all the way around the base row; you will have added a total of four fringe beads.
STEP 8
Pass through the first fringe bead you added. This positions your needle and thread so you can begin the next row.
STEP 9
Repeat steps 7 and 8 until your peyote tube stitch covers the length of red #8 seed beads on the necklace. Anchor your thread on the last #8 seed bead.

Earrings

STEP 1
Place one 4mm faceted round red crystal onto a gold-plated eyepin. Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and flush-cutters, form a simple loop on the straight end of the wire, creating a 4mm round faceted red crystal beading link. Repeat to create two 4mm round faceted red crystal beading links.
STEP 2
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open a 4.5mm jumpring. String onto the jumpring three fringe beads in a random pattern. Close the jumpring. Repeat to create sixty 4.5mm jumprings with fringe beads.
STEP 3
String onto the open wire of the beading hoop one of each of the following:
  • One 4mm corrugated round gold-plated bead
  • One 4mm round faceted round red crystal
  • Thirty 4.5mm jumprings with fringe beads
  • One 4mm round faceted round red crystal
  • One 4mm corrugated round gold-plated bead
Pass the end of the wire through the wire bracket on the opposite side of the earring. Crimp the wire bracket to hold the wire securely in place.
STEP 4
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open the loop on one 4mm round faceted red crystal beading link. Pass the loop through the loop on the beading hoop. Close the loop. Open the opposite loop on the 4mm round faceted red crystal beading link. Pass the loop through the loop on an earwire. Close the loop.
STEP 5
Repeat Steps 3 and 4 to create the second earring.
