Belt with Gunmetal-Plated Brass Components and Focals and Mountain "Jade" Gemstone Beads

STEP 1
Using a pair of flush-cutters, cut the following:
  • three 6-inch lengths of nickel-silver dead-soft 20-gauge round wire
  • nine 12-inch lengths of silver-colored 34-gauge round wire
  • one 7-inch length of antiqued silver-plated 5x3.5mm cable chain
  • thirty-six 3/4 inch lengths of antiqued silver-plated 4.8x3.3mm cable chain
STEP 2
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and flush-cutters, form a wrapped loop on the end of a 6-inch length of nickel-silver dead-soft 20-gauge round wire. String one silver-plated 12mm bead cap, one 12mm round turquoise mountain "jade" bead and one silver-plated 12mm bead cap onto the wire. Finish the end of the wire in a wrapped loop, creating a 12mm round turquoise mountain "jade" beading link. Repeat to create three 12mm round turquoise mountain "jade" beading links.

Create one 12mm round turquoise mountain "jade" bead drop using one silver-plated 12mm bead cap, one 12mm round turquoise mountain "jade" bead and one silver-plated 12mm bead cap on a 1-1/2 inch headpin and finish the wire with a simple loop.
STEP 3
Using a pair of round-nose pliers and chain-nose pliers, wrap the straight end of a 12-inch length of 34-gauge silver wire around the center hole of a gunmetal-plated 22mm fancy flower component making the end of the wire come out the top of the component. String one 4mm round turquoise mountain "jade" bead onto the wire. Pass the wire back through the center hole. Wrap the wire around the outside of the first outer petal one and a half times. String one 4mm round turquoise mountain "jade" bead onto the wire. Pass the wire through one of the center holes on the inside of the flower petal. Then pass the wire to the next petal. Continue until a 4mm round turquoise mountain "jade" bead is attached to each of the eight flower petals on the gunmetal-plated 22mm fancy flower component. Wrap the end of the wire around the last petal twice to secure the wire.

Repeat to create nine gunmetal-plated 22mm fancy flower components with 4mm round turquoise mountain "jade" beads.
STEP 4
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open a 3.8mm jumpring. Pass the jumpring through the loop on the 12mm round turquoise mountain "jade" bead drop and the first link on the 7-inch length of antiqued silver-plated 5x3.5mm cable chain. Close the jumpring.

Open a 3.8mm jumpring. Pass the jumpring through the last link on the 7-inch length of antiqued silver-plated 5x3.5mm cable chain and the loop on one 12mm round turquoise mountain "jade" beading link. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach a second 3.8mm jumpring next to the first creating a double jumpring.
STEP 5
Continue to attach the following components using double 3.8mm jumprings from the first attached beading link, onward:
  • One 3/4 inch length of antiqued silver-plated cable chain
  • One 12mm round turquoise mountain "jade" beading link
  • One 3/4 inch length of antiqued silver-plated cable chain
  • One gunmetal-plated 22mm fancy flower component (attached to the first outside petal)
STEP 6
Open a 3.8mm jumpring. Pass the jumpring through the fourth petal on the gunmetal-plated 22mm fancy flower component and the first link on a 3/4 inch length of antiqued silver-plated cable chain. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach a second 3.8mm jumpring next to the first creating a double jumpring.

Repeat to attach a double jumpring to the sixth petal on the gunmetal-plated 22mm fancy flower component and the first link on another 3/4 inch length of antiqued silver-plated cable chain.
STEP 7
Attach a 3.8mm jumpring to the last link on the 3/4 inch length of antiqued silver-plated cable chain and the left outer hole on the top of a gunmetal-plated filigree square component. Close the jumpring. Attach a second 3.8mm jumpring to the last link on the 3/4 inch length of antiqued silver-plated cable chain and the loop to the inside of the left outer hole on the gunmetal-plated filigree square component to create a double jumpring. Close the jumpring.

Repeat to attach a two jumprings to the second piece of chain added in Step 6 to the right outer hole on the top of the gunmetal-plated filigree square component.
STEP 8
Attach a jumpring to the left outer hole on the bottom of the gunmetal-plated filigree square component added in Step 7 and the first link on a 3/4 inch length of antiqued silver-plated cable chain. Close the jumpring. Attach a second 3.8mm jumpring to the inside of the left outer hole on the bottom of the gunmetal-plated filigree square component and the first link on the 3/4 inch length of antiqued silver-plated cable chain.

Repeat to attach a double jumpring and a length of chain to the right outer hole on the bottom of the gunmetal-plated filigree square component.
STEP 9
Repeat Steps 7 and 8 seven times for a total of eight sets of gunmetal-plated 22mm fancy flower component, chains and gunmetal-plated filigree square components.
STEP 10
Continue to attach the following components using double 3.8mm jumprings:
  • The last gunmetal-plated 22mm fancy flower component (attached to the fourth and sixth outside petals)
  • One 3/4 inch length of antiqued silver-plated cable chain (attached to the first outside petal)
  • One 12mm round turquoise mountain "jade" beading link
  • One 3/4 inch length of antiqued silver-plated cable chain
STEP 11
Attach a double 8mm jumpring to the last link on the previous 3/4 inch length of antiqued silver-plated cable chain and the loop on the 17x11mm lobster claw clasp.

Note: Antique/blacken the silver-plated lobster claw clasp to coordinate with the focal components in this project using Patina Gel by following illustrated instructions "Using Patina Gel" included in the Resources listed below.
