Cut the following lengths of sterling silver 18-gauge wire: two 1-foot and one 4-foot.
||Wrap one 4-foot length of 18-gauge wire approximately nine times around a felt-tip marker to make a hand-wrapped coil. Working with the same wire, use the Coiling Gizmo® Deluxe Econo Winder to make approximately ten loops (or about 1/2 inch).
Cut the following lengths of black Satinique™ cord: 12 10-inch and four 40-inch.
Repeat Step 2 two more times, then finish with one more hand-wrapped coil to create a wire focal. Trim any excess wire.
||Match up the ends of four lengths of 40-inch Satinique cord and pass through one 8mm soldered jumpring. Bring the jumpring to the center of the cord, making sure to keep all cord ends the same length. Use a binding/whipping knot to secure the cord close to the jumpring with a 10-inch length of cord. Apply a small amount of glue to the end of the binding knot to secure. Trim any excess cord from the short end.
Pass seven ends of cord through each of the hand-wrapped loops on the wire focal, and one end of cord through both the hand-wrapped and Coiling Gizmo coils.
Pass each end of cord through one 8mm soldered jumpring. Use a binding/whipping knot to secure, creating the main strand. Trim excess cord from the short end, flush with the knot.
||Pass eight 10-inch lengths of cord through the hand-wrapped coils of the wire focal. Center the lengths of cords with the main strand.
At one end of the 10-inch lengths of cord, use a binding/whipping knot to secure the cords to the main strand. Trim excess cord from the short end, flush with the knot. Apply a small amount of glue to secure the knot. Repeat to secure the opposite ends of 10-inch lengths of cord.
Using a 1-foot length of wire, create a hand-wrapped coil around the main strand (approximately 8 loops), just above the knots from Step 6. Cut excess wire.
||Pass one 4mm jumpring through one half of the hook-and-eye clasp and one 8mm soldered jumpring and close. Repeat to attach the other half of the clasp.
Cut two 1-foot lengths of 18-gauge wire.
Cut eight 10-inch lengths and two 14-inch lengths of black Satinique cord.
Match up the ends of four lengths of 8-inch Satinique cord and pass through one 8mm soldered jumpring. Bring the jumpring to the center of the cord, making sure to keep all cord ends the same length. Use a binding/whipping knot to secure the cord close to the jumpring with a 14-inch length of cord. Apply a small amount of glue to the end of the binding knot to secure. Trim the short end of the knot to be the same length as the other ends of cord.
Wrap one 1-foot length of wire by hand around the knot from Step 2. Attach one earwire to the 8mm soldered jumpring.
Repeat Steps 2 - 3 to create a second earring.
