Using a swivel knife, score a line across the width of the leather cuff starting 1-1/8 inch from the end. Continue to score a line every 3/8 inch up the length of the cuff for a total of eleven lines.
Score a line across the width of the brown leather wristband starting 1-1/2 inch from the snap end. Continue to score a line every 3/8 inch up the length of the wristband for a total of thirteen lines.
Using a craft or paintbrush, apply a coat of leather sheen to condition and add a protective seal to your leather. Allow leather sheen to dry before continuing.
Using a ball peen hammer, a pear-shaped shader stamp and steel bench block, starting to the right of the first scored line on the cuff, create a pattern next to the line extending only half way to the next line. Continue to pattern the leather to the right side of each scored line on both the cuff and the wristband.
Using a stencil brush, apply a thin layer of African bronze Gilders Paste over the patterned leather to the right of the first scored line.
Apply the African bronze Gilders Paste to the pattern after every other scored line on both the cuff and the wristband.
Apply the antique gold Gilders Paste to the pattern after every other scored line on both the cuff and the wristband.
Allow Gilders Paste to dry for 12 to 24 hours.
Thin out Gilders Paste with paint thinner or mineral spirits to transform the highly concentrated paste into a preferred consistency. Use in a well-ventilated area.
Attach the wristband to the cuff with the patterns going in the opposite direction.
Note: Gilders Paste dries to the touch in 10 - 15 minutes with a recommended complete dry time of 12 - 24 hours. Once dry, polishing with a soft cloth will bring out a luster finish. Applying a water-based acrylic top coat is recommended.
