Single-Strand Necklace and Earring Set with Leather Scrap, Gold-Finished Brass Hot-Fix Rhinestud Flat Backs and Gold-Finished Steel Chain

Necklace

STEP 1
Cut five 27x23mm brown leather triangles and five 45x23mm black leather triangles.

Separate one 19-inch length of 8mm double cable chain.
STEP 2
Punch a 2mm hole in each corner, on the 23mm side, of one brown triangle component. Place the brown triangle on top of one black triangle component and line up the 23mm sides. Use a marker to transfer the holes in the corners of the brown triangle onto the black triangle then punch the holes.
STEP 3
Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge® adhesive to the back of the brown triangle component. Press the brown triangle onto the black triangle, lining up the holes on each triangle. Allow to dry according to manufacturer's instructions.
STEP 4
Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to create a total of five triangle components.
STEP 5
Place one black 5x4mm eyelet into the hole in one corner of one triangle component then use the eyelet setting tool to secure the eyelet in place.

Repeat to attach an eyelet to each set of holes in each corner of each triangle component.
STEP 6
Pre-heat the hot-fix applicator tool for at least two minutes.

Position one 3mm flat round hot-fix rhinestud in the opposite corner, from the 23mm sides, of the brown and black triangles on each component.
STEP 7
Place the hot-fix applicator tool in the center of one rhinestud and hold it in place for approximately 10 seconds to melt the glue on the back of the rhinestud. Repeat to affix the remaining rhinestuds.

Allow the rhinestuds to cool completely then check to verify adherence to the leather. If necessary repeat to secure the rhinestuds.
STEP 8
Pass one 9mm jumpring through one eyelet on one triangle component and one double link approximately 7 inches from one end of the double cable chain. Repeat to attach the second eyelet to the next link from the previous.
STEP 9
Skip one double link in the chain then attach a second triangle component, skipping one chain link between the jumprings attaching the triangle. Repeat to attach a total of 2 triangle components on either side of the center triangle component.
STEP 10
Pass one 6mm jumpring through the last double link on one end of the length of chain and one portion of the clasp. Repeat to attach the second portion of the clasp to the opposite end of the chain.
