Bib-Style Necklace and Earring Set with Silver-Coated Plastic Focals, Seed Beads and Czech Fire-Polished Glass Beads

Necklace

STEP 1
Cut three 14-inch lengths of crocheted sky blue seed bead cord and two 8-inch lengths of sterling silver 32-gauge wire.

Fray the end of the cord approximately 2 inches and remove the seed beads.

Match one end of each of the three lengths of crocheted sky blue seed bead cord. Place the eye of one 2-1/2 inch eyepin into the ends of cord close to where the braided ends begin. Beginning above the eye of the eyepin wrap one 8-inch length of 32-gauge wire around the cords and eyepin three to four times to secure. Apply a generous amount of Loctite® 409 gel adhesive the wrapped end
STEP 2
Secure the wrapped end to a work space using tape or a pin. Braid the three strands of crocheted sky blue seed bead cord for approximately 10 inches.

Repeat Step 2 to secure the oppsoite end of the cords.
STEP 3
String one 8x8mm cord end (open end facing the braided cords), one blue and gold 14mm flat round and one lemon 8mm round onto the stright end of the first wire. Form a wrapped loop on the straight end of the wire. Repeat to finish the opposite end of the braided cord.
STEP 4
Using flush-cutters cut the loop off of a 21-gauge 2-1/2 inch eyepin. begin forming a 3mm wrapped loop on the end the wire. Pass the loop through the loop from one end of the braided cord then finish the wrapped loop.

String one lemon Czech glass 8mm round onto the stright end of the wire then form a wrapped loop creating a lemon Czech glass link.

Repeat to attach two more lemon Czech glass links to the prevous link

Repeat to attach a total of three lemon Czech glass links to the opposite end of the necklace.
STEP 5
String one neon red 11x8mm pear pearl (through the wide end), one sky blue seed bead and one lemon 6mm faceted round bead onto the straight end of a headpin. Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and flush-cutters form a wrapped loop on the straight end of the wire to create one neon red bead drop.
STEP 6
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open an 8x6mm oval jumpring. Pass it through the loop on the lobster claw clasp and the loop on the first lemon 8mm round double-wrapped beading link attached to the first end of the braided cord. Close the jumpring.

Open one 6mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on the neon red bead drop and on 8x6mm oval jumpring. Close the jumpring. Continue to attach five sets of two 6mm jumprings and one 8x6mm oval jumpring to create an extender chain. Pass the last 8x6mm oval jumpring through the first lemon 8mm round double-wrapped beading link attached to the second end of the braided cord.
STEP 7
String one lemon 8mm faceted round bead onto the straight end of a headpin. Pass the headpin through the braided sky blue seed bead cord 3 inches from the first end. String one neon red 4mm round pearl and one lemon 8mm faceted round bead onto the end of the headpin. Finish the end of the wire with a simple loop.

Repeat to attach a headpin with one lemon 8mm faceted round bead, the braided cord, one neon red 4mm round pearl and one lemon 8mm faceted round bead on the braided cord 3 inches from the opposite end of the cord.

Repeat to attach a headpin with one lemon 8mm faceted round bead, the braided cord, one neon red 4mm round pearl and one lemon 10mm faceted round bead on the braided cord 3-3/4 inches from the first end and the opposite end of the cord.

Repeat to attach a headpin with one 8mm faceted round lemon glass bead, the braided cord, one neon red 4mm round pearl and one lemon 12mm faceted round bead on the braided cord 4-1/2 inches from the first end, 5-1/4 inches (center) from the first end and 4-1/2 inches from the opposite end of the cord.
STEP 8
Using flush-cutters, cut a 10-inch length of Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire. String one crimp tube onto the end of the beading wire. Place a small amount of adhesive (Loctite®) inside the crimp (optional).

Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using flush-cutters, trim the excess wire from the short end. Place a crimp cover over the crimp tube then gently close it.
STEP 9
String onto the beading wire the following:
  • The first hole on one neon yellow Twin™ seed bead
  • The simple loop on the bottom of the first beading link on the braided cord
  • The first hole on one neon yellow Twin seed bead
  • One neon pink 3mm round pearl
  • One blue and gold 14mm flat round bead
  • One neon pink 3mm round pearl
  • The first hole on one neon yellow Twin seed bead
  • The simple loop on the bottom of the second beading link on the braided cord
Continue the pattern attaching the beading wire to the loops on the beading links across the bottom of the necklace.
STEP 10
String the first hole on one neon yellow Twin seed bead and one crimp tube after the last beading link. Pull the wire tight against the last bead. Make sure there is no slack. Place a small amount of adhesive (Loctite) inside the crimp (optional). Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using flush-cutters, trim excess wire from the end. Place a crimp cover over the crimp tube then gently close it.
STEP 11
Open one 10mm twisted jumpring. Pass it through the second hole on the first neon yellow Twin seed bead. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach one 10mm twisted jumpring to the second hole on each of the neon yellow Twin seed bead along the bottom of the necklace.
STEP 12
Open a 6mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on the top of one silver-coated 32x5mm round spike focal and the first two 10mm twisted jumprings. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach a second 6mm jumpring next to the first.

Repeat to attach one silver-coated 32x5mm round spike focal to the 7th set of 10mm twisted jumprings.

Repeat to attach one silver-coated 50x6mm round spike focal to the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th sets of 10mm twisted jumprings.

Repeat to attach one silver-coated 3-1/2 x 7/16 inch round spike focal to the 4th set of 10mm twisted jumprings.

Earrings

STEP 1
Using flush-cutters cut the loop off of a 21-gauge 3-inch eyepin. Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and flush-cutters, form a 3mm wrapped loop on the straight end the wire. String one blue and gold 14mm flat round bead, one neon yellow seed bead, one lemon 8mm faceted round bead, one neon yellow seed bead and one neon red 4mm round pearl onto the wire. Finish the second end with a wrapped loop to secure the bead in place. Repeat to create two double-wrapped beading links.
STEP 2
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open one 4mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on the earwire and the loop on the top of one double-wrapped beading link. Close the jumpring.

Open one 8mm jumpring. Pass it through the bottom loop on the double-wrapped beading link and one silver-coated 32x5mm round spike focal. Close the jumpring.
STEP 3
Repeat Step 2 to create the second earring.
