Multi-Strand Necklace and Earring Set with Cultured Freshwater Pearls, Antiqued Gold-Finished Spacers and Cupchain

Necklace

STEP 1
Cut the following lengths:
  • Accu-Flex professional-quality beading wire: one 13-inch length, one 15-inch length and one 16-1/2 inch length
  • Six 1/2 inch lengths of French wire
  • One 2-foot length of 31-gauge wire
  • 4mm rolo chain: two 4-1/2 inch lengths and two 4-1/4 inch lengths
  • Glass rhinestone cupchain: one 7-inch lengths and one 11-1/2 inch length

First Strand

STEP 2
Attach one cupchain connector to each end of the lengths of cupchain.

Secure each end of the 11-1/2 inch length of cupchain in the clips of the Chain Sta.
STEP 3
String one 3mm round onto one 1-inch eyepin then form a simple loop. Repeat to create a second 3mm round link.
STEP 4
Apply a small amount of Loctite® 409 to the back of the eighth link, from one end, of the 11-1/2 inch length of cupchain then attach the connector loop from the 7-inch length of cupchain. Allow to dry according to manufacturer's instructions.

Attach one loop on one 3mm round link between the 9th and 10th links on the 11-1/2 inch length of cupchain. Attach the opposite end of the link between the first and second link on the 7-inch length of cupchain.

Wrap one end of the 2-foot length of wire around between the 9th and 10th links on the 11-1/2 inch length of cupchain to secure it in place.
STEP 5
Mix equal amounts of the Apoxie® (equaling approximately the size of a pea) for two minutes, or until thoroughly blended.

Separate a small amount of Apoxie and place it on the back of the cupchain, over the wire and the loop of the 3mm round link to secure them in place. Repeat to apply Apoxie to the opposite end of the link and back of the cupchain then allow to dry.
STEP 6
Wrap the wire around the back of the adjacent cupchain link moving down to the next space between cupchain links. Wrap the wire around the space twice then string one lilac 5-6mm pearl. Wrap the wire around the space between to links on the opposite length of cupchain to secure the pearl between the two lengths of cupchain.

Continue to attach twenty-seven pearls between the two lengths of cupchain wrapping the wire around the cupchain on each side. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 to secure the opposite end of the cupchain.

Second Strand

STEP 7
String onto one 16-1/2 inch length of beading wire, one 2x2mm crimp bead and one length of French wire. Pass the beading wire back through the crimp bead. Pull the beading wire so the crimp rests snug against the French wire leaving approximately 1/4 inch of beading wire on the end.

Crimp the crimp bead then trim the excess from the short end of the beading wire. Finish with a 4mm crimp cover.
STEP 8
String the following onto the beading wire:
  • Repeat this sequence to string a total of seven sets (graduating shades from dark to light)
    • One grey 7-8mm pearl
    • One 3x2mm smooth rondelle
  • One light grey 7-8mm pearl
  • Repeat this sequence to string a total of fourteen sets:
    • One 3mm round
    • One peacock 7-8mm pearl
    • One 3x2mm smooth rondelle
    • One peacock 7-8mm pearl
  • One peacock 7-8mm pearl
  • One 3mm round
  • Repeat this sequence to string a total of seven sets (graduating shades from light to dark):
    • One grey pearl
    • One 3x2mm smooth rondelle
  • One dark grey pearl
Repeat Step 2 to secure the strand.

Third Strand

STEP 9
Repeat Step 7 using the 15-inch length of beading wire.

String the following onto the beading wire:
  • Repeat this sequence to string a total of seven sets (graduating shades from dark to light)
    • One grey 7-8mm pearl
    • One 3x2mm smooth rondelle
  • Repeat this sequence to string a total of twelve sets:
    • One peacock 7-8mm pearl
    • One 3x2mm smooth rondelle
    • One peacock 7-8mm pearl
    • One 3mm round
  • One peacock 7-8mm pearl
  • Repeat this sequence to string a total of seven sets (graduating shades from light to dark):
    • One 3x2mm smooth rondelle
    • One grey pearl
Repeat Step 7 to secure the strand.

Fourth Strand

STEP 10
Repeat Step 7 using the 13-inch length of beading wire.

String the following onto the beading wire:
  • Repeat this sequence to string a total of five sets (graduating shades from dark to light)
    • One grey 7-8mm pearl
    • One 3x2mm smooth rondelle
  • One light grey 7-8mm pearl
  • Repeat this sequence to string a total of eleven sets:
    • One 3mm round
    • One peacock 7-8mm pearl
    • One 3x2mm smooth rondelle
    • One peacock 7-8mm pearl
  • One 3mm round
  • Repeat this sequence to string a total of five sets (graduating shades from light to dark):
    • One grey pearl
    • One 3x2mm smooth rondelle
  • One dark grey pearl
Repeat Step 7 to secure the strand.

Necklace Assembly

STEP 11
Attach one 4mm jumpring to the loop on each portion of the toggle clasp. Using one 4mm jumpring connect the loop on one portion of the toggle clasp to the first link on one end of one 2-1/4 inch length and one 2-1/2 inch length of rolo chain.

Using one 4mm jumpring connect the last link on the opposite end of the 2-1/4 inch chain to the top loop on one side of, the back of, one 2-strand fancy rectangle spacer. Repeat to connect the 2-1/2 inch length of chain to the bottom loop on the same side of the spacer.
STEP 12
Connect one 4mm jumpring to the top loop on the opposite side of the spacer. Using a second 4mm jumpring connect previous jumpring to the first cupchain connector on the first strand.

Using 4mm jumpring connect the second strand to the filigree loop below the top loop then connect the third strand to the filigree loop below the previous. Repeat to connect the fourth strand to the bottom loop.
STEP 13
Repeat Steps 11 and 12 using the second portion of the toggle clasp to secure the opposite ends of the strands and finish the necklace.

Earrings

STEP 14
Cut four 1-inch, four 3/4 inch and two 3/8 inch lengths 4mm rolo chain and six 1-link lengths of glass rhinestone cupchain.
STEP 15
Attach one cupchain connector to each cupchain link creating cupchain drops.
STEP 16
String one peacock 7-8mm pearl onto one 1-inch eyepin then form a simple loop. Repeat to create a total of sixteen peacock pearl links. Repeat to create a total of four Swarovski crystal AB 6mm round links.

String one peacock 7-8mm pearl onto one 1-inch headpin then form a simple loop. Repeat to create a total of four peacock pearl drops.
STEP 17
Connect two peacock pearl links, one Swarovski crystal AB 6mm round link and one peacock pearl drop creating a pearl and Swarovski drop. Repeat to create a total of four pearl and Swarovski drops.

Connect the first link on one 3/4 inch length of chain, one peacock pearl link and one cupchain drop. Repeat to create total of four pearl and 3/4 inch chain drops and two pearl and 3/8 inch chain drops.
STEP 18
Using one 4mm jumpring connect the first link on two lengths of 1-inch chain and the loop on one fishhook earwire.

Connect the last link on the opposite end of the one length of chain to the top right loop on the back of one spacer. Repeat to connect the second length of chain to the top left loop on the spacer.
STEP 19
Using a 4mm jumpring connect one pearl and Swarovski drop to the bottom right loop on the back of the spacer. Repeat to attach a pearl and Swarovski drop to the bottom left loop.

Using a 4mm jumpring connect one pearl and 3/4 inch chain drop to the filigree loop to the right of the previous loop. Repeat to connect the second pearl and 3/4 inch chain drop filigree loop.

Using 4mm jumprings connect the 3/8 inch chain drop each of the filigree loops in the center of the previous drops.
