Describe your artistic style. I am a designer who likes to make designs that have never been made before.
What inspires you as a designer-artist? Any available raw materials.
What materials do you most enjoy working with? Beads of all shapes and sizes, but I've found that wire is very enjoyable.
What is the name of the piece you submitted with your success story? My Garden
What inspired this design? The wire which I bought from your website.
How did it come together? For example, did you plan it out or did it define itself once you began working? It defined itself once I began working.
Share Your Background
When and how did you begin making jewelry/beading? When I was young I fixed old jewelry or made new pieces from it.
Who introduced you to beading? My sister.
Do you have an artistic background? Yes, but from practice and not study.
How did you discover Fire Mountain Gems and Beads®? My cousin told me about Fire Mountain Gems.
What other hobbies do you have? Drawing, knitting and embroidery.
What role does jewelry-making play in your life? It's an important part of my life, I have fun making it and I look for new techniques. I feel so happy and rested when I make a new technique. When it is an important piece it takes the whole day, but if it is a piece with no customer I use my spare time.
If you used jewelry-making as a way to bring in income, how are you selling yourself and your jewelry? I don't have a website or attend craft fairs or markets. I have my friends and nephews sell it for me, I haven't entered any contests before, this is my first one--but it is my dream.
Any advice for aspiring jewelry-artists? Continue to use your creativity and the possibilities of using raw materials.
