Meet the Designer-Artist

My inspiration for my jewelry has many levels. It all started when my eldest daughter was at the end of her pregnancy with my first grandbaby. I thought it would be nice if the baby had a cute little bracelet from me. After shopping around, I came to the conclusion that for the price I could probably make something myself.

That was all she wrote, I quickly realized that this was something I was good at! My daughter's best friend Melissa, instantly fell in love with my creations and was my biggest supporter and she gave me a purpose behind my jewelry.

Now my goal wasn't just to make people happy with jewelry, but to give back to something that was very near and dear to my heart. Melissa was a 29 year old mother of three that was nearing the end of her six year battle with a rare form of cancer called Condor Sarcoma. I sold my jewelry and donated it to make her life easier by getting supplies and labor to build her a ramp and deck so that she could enjoy her back yard and not be a prisoner in her own home.

I now strive to give back to Cancer Care Alliance in Seattle, Washington. The CCA is filled with wonderful caring people and is the place that allowed Melissa to live much longer than originally thought. I will be giving 10% of my proceeds to the CCA in her memory. Thank you for your consideration of my entry.
