Describe your artistic style.
I am still developing my style. I prefer compositions of complex and elaborate design composed of a variety of beads, crystal and other natural stones that inspire me.

I am inspired by spirituality found in nature. I am learning about Native American designs through beadwork. I believe that every piece of jewelry I design is a story waiting to be told.
What materials do you most enjoy working with?
Precious stones, Swarovski Crystals, seed beads. Currently I am experimenting with different relationships between wire, clay and stone.

When and how did you begin making jewelry/beading?
My friend Tatiana Van Iten from St. Petersburg, Russia, has been working with beadwork all her life. In November 2010, Tatiana sent me her first published book as a gift. When my daughter Marsha found the book, she was fascinated by Tatiana's work and asked me if I could do something like that. The next day, I sent a message to Tatiana asking three questions: where to start beadwork, what materials to buy, and which magazines to look at as references. She told me that Fire Mountain Gems was the best place to find products for beading. She also mentioned Bead and Button Magazine, Bead Unique and Beading Daily as useful magazines. She gave me the address of Diane Fitzgerald, a local Minneapolis bead designer, to stop in and see her work. I immediately ordered product from Fire Mountain Gems and subscribed to the three magazines she suggested. I also ordered many seed bead designer's books through amazon.com. Since January 2011, I have been practicing the art of beadwork non-stop.
Who introduced you to beading?
Tatiana Van Iten.
Do you have an artistic background?
Yes, I am a creative person by nature. I was a seamstress and created my own clothes and knitting projects. I also loved drawing and attended advertising classes in Russia. I was a hair stylist for many years.
How did you discover Fire Mountain Gems and Beads®?
I was introduced to Fire Mountain through Tatiana Van Iten.
What other hobbies do you have?
Traveling, yoga, meditation, horse riding, knitting, sewing, and, of course, my newfound passion for beading this year and beyond.
Do you belong to any beading societies or beading groups?
Not yet, but I would love to belong to them in the future.
What role does jewelry-making play in your life?
Jewelry-making has opened up my creative side and brings me happiness and satisfaction. I have been learning new techniques with beadwork almost every day. I work full-time in a law firm but beadwork has been a very satisfying passion for me.
If you used jewelry-making as a way to bring in income, how are you selling yourself and your jewelry?
I have entered several contests. I was a finalist in the 2011 Gemstone Contest for Fire Mountain. I also won first place in the Harlequin Beads Competition.
