||Meet the Designer-Artist
Tammy Spice is a fantastic jewelry artist whose work can be found in boutiques and department stores nationwide. Attending Accessories: The Show in both Las Vegas and New York City to showcase her work, Tammy now has a following of customers that look for her twice a year to stock their stores with her new lines. Tammy's jewelry is entirely hand-fabricated in her Midwest Studio.
Where do you live?
Describe your artistic style.
It's a unique mix of edgy design and flirty elegance, approachable and fun with alluring subtle and bold qualities. The collection encompasses semi-precious stone, 14Kt gold filled, sterling silver, and an array of hand-picked pieces. The jewelry is inspired design that is entirely hand fabricated in the USA.
What inspires you as a designer-artist?
I have been designing jewelry since I was a child, jewelry design comes very natural to me. I have never struggled over inspiration. I feel my inspiration is drawn from within me.
What materials do you most enjoy working with?
Multi-chains, Swarovski crystals, and unique pendant pieces.
What is the name of the piece you submitted with your success story?
SHU-SHU; This piece is very intricate with multi-chains, rock quartz and Swarovski crystals. It can dress up a jean outfit or pair perfectly with evening wear.
What inspired this design?
I have been designing necklaces with multiple, messy, braided chains with stones, long and short for over five years, it is always a favorite look during all seasons.
Share Your Background
When and how did you begin making jewelry/beading?
I was going to college for Architecture and Art History when my mother gave me a beading kit. I started designing for friends and a local boutique. Almost immediately I was getting press recognition and special order requests.
How did you discover Fire Mountain Gems and Beads®?
A friend recommended Fire Mountain, I have been loyal ever since!
What other hobbies do you have?
Kayaking, swimming, rock climbing/hiking and interior decorating.
Do you participate in any charity fundraisers?
My beautiful niece has Down Syndrome, so my family and I are very active with awareness and fundraisers. I lost my Mom three years ago to cancer, ever since I have two home jewelry parties a year to donate all proceeds to the American Cancer Society in her honor.
