Figure 5

Work six flower petals in C, D (Fig. 1). Work symmetrically in both directions, starting from the center. Attach D beads to the top edge of each petal (Fig. 2). Embroider loops on petal edge in D seed beads (Fig. 3). Note: the embroidered loops cover one petal side completely, while going just along the top of the other side. Work a flower from petals as shown in Pic. 1. Note: the petals overlap. The two-bead space of overlapping is marked in Fig. 1 (seed beads 1, 2). The embroidered petal edge should be placed inside the flower, while the edge without embroidery--to the outside. Connect the petals, adding extra D seed beads (Fig. 4). Sew one G bead in the middle. Bead around this G bead in D, B seed beads and H beads (Fig. 5).

Black Flower

Work the black flower in the same way as the pink one, altering the bead colour like this: use A, B seed beads for the petals; embroider around the petal edge in B. Use J bead instead of G. Use I beads instead of H. Embroider the center in B, D seed beads.

Figure 10
Using C, bead the netting (Fig. 6). Using A, B, D bead a leaf (Fig. 7). Attach the leaf to the base netting, using G bead as shown in the photograph. Using A, B, D and H, work a spiral and attach it under the leaf (Fig. 8). Work two pendants in I, D and agate drop beads (Fig. 9).

Attach nine strings in A to F to the left side of netting (Fig. 10), working them as described below.

The first string. Anchor the thread to those beads of the netting, which are inside the necklace. Pick up 6cm of mixed seed beads, then one H [#1], four D, one (I) [#2]; go through the 1st hole of agate bead, string one H [#3], four E, one H [#4] and 10cm of mixed seed beads. Fix the thread end to the eyepin.

The second string. Go back through the last two beads and string 10cm of mixed seed beads. Go through [#4] H bead of the first string. Pick up four E. Go through [#3] H bead of the first string, then through the first hole of agate bead and through [#2] H bead. String 4 E. Go through [#1] H bead of the first string. String 6cm of mixed seed beads. Attach the second string the netting.

Work all the other strings in the same way. Just change the length of mixed seed bead strings at the bottom from 6cm for the inside strings to 7.5cm for the outside strings.

Attach strings in A to F to the right side of the netting, making them 16cm long from the inner side of the necklace and 17cm long from the outer side.

Put a cap onto each pin and bend the pin into a ring. Attach jumprings and a clasp. Sew the flowers onto the netting as shown in the photograph.
