Peyote Stitch Mandala

This illustration uses Delica® #11 seed beads except for the aqua's which are Dyna-Mites™, #11 beads. Thread one wide-eye beading needle with approximately 4 feet of Nymo® beading thread.

Tip: Use care to not pull thread too tight.
STEP 1
Pick up three aqua seed beads and create a circle secured with a square knot, then pass back through the first aqua picked up.
STEP 2
Pick up two yellow then pass counter clockwise through the second aqua. Pick up two yellow then pass through the third aqua. Pick up two yellows and pass through the first aqua and the first yellow.
STEP 3
Pick up one white and pass through the second yellow. Pick up one white then pass through the third yellow. Pick up one white and pass through the fourth yellow, one white and fifth yellow, one white and sixth yellow, one white and seventh yellow and back through the first white.
STEP 4
Pick up two green and pass through second white. Repeat with the following: Two green, third white, two green, fourth white, two green, fifth white, two green, sixth white, two green, first white and the first green.
STEP 5
Pick up one pink and pass through next green. Repeat to complete the circle then pass back through the first pink.
STEP 6
Pick up one gold and pass through the next pink. Repeat to complete the circle then pass back through the first gold.
STEP 7
Pick up one aqua and pass through the next gold. Repeat to complete the circle then pass back through the first aqua.
STEP 8
Pick up two yellow and pass through the next aqua. Repeat to complete the circle then pass back through the first two yellows.
STEP 9
Pick up one white and pass through the next two yellows. Repeat to complete the circle then pass back through the first white.
STEP 10
Pick up three green and pass through the next white. Repeat to complete the circle then pass through the first three greens.
STEP 11
Pick up one pink and pass through the next three greens. Repeat to complete the circle then pass through the first pink.
STEP 12
Pick up three gold and pass through the next pink. Repeat to complete the circle then pass through the first three golds.
STEP 13
Pick up one aqua and pass through the next three gold. Repeat to complete the circle then pass through the first aqua.
STEP 14
Pick up four yellow and pass through the next aqua. Repeat to complete the circle than pass through the first four yellow.
STEP 15
Pick up one white and pass through the next four yellow. Repeat to complete the circle then pass through the first white.
STEP 16
Pick up four green and pass through the next white. Repeat to complete the circle then pass through the first four green.
STEP 17
Pick up two pink and pass through the next four green. Repeat to complete the circle then pass through the first two pink.
STEP 18
Pick up four gold and pass through the next two pink. Repeat to complete the circle then pass through the first four gold.
STEP 19
Pick up three aqua and pass through the next four gold. Repeat to complete the circle then pass through the first three aqua.
STEP 20
Pick up four yellow and pass through the next three aqua. Repeat to complete the circle then pass through the first four yellow.

To terminate the working thread, make a figure eight by weaving diagonally back through the beaded pattern. Trim excess thread.
